I'm so excited for this upcoming EFT Externship--the FIRST one offered to the New Mexico EFT community! Help us share the word so we can work to build a thriving EFT community. This externship will be offered online and will be led by me and Robert Allan, PhD. About Dr. Allan: He has more than two decades of experience helping couples, individuals, and families improve their most important relationships, health, and well-being. He has been practicing psychotherapy since 2004... in a variety of settings including community mental health, hospitals, employee assistance programs, and private practice, and is an Assistant Professor of Counseling at the University of Colorado Denver. In his private practice, he works with individuals, couples, and families dealing with issues such as anxiety, depression, infidelity, adjustment to life transitions, trauma, addictions, and couples struggling in their relationship as well as others. ABOUT THE UNBROKEN BONDS TRAINING PROGRAM Couples dealing with major trust betrayals is often the most frequent presenting concern in couple therapy. Although a common reason given for divorce, many couples seek treatment to heal their relationship following an affair rather than pursue its end. This training reviews practices and resources that help couples work through the injury of a betrayal and its collateral impact using Emotionally Focused Couple Therapy. This advanced Master Class involves a full-day of didactic training including examples of couples working through these injuries. The training also provides opportunity for focused case reviews addressing specific questions and treatment issues focused on repairing relationship betrayals commonplace in everyday clinical practice. I'm so excited for tomorrow's EFT Externship! Kathryn de Bruin and I are deeply committed to making it an exceptional learning experience for everyone and are so thankful to those joining us (especially in these challenging and uncertain times). Our next EFT Trainer Open Office hour takes place on Monday, August 17th! This series gives you a chance to connect online with EFT Trainers, including me, Kathryn de Bruin, Silvina Irwin & Michael Barnett (with each session featuring at least one trainer). This online forum offers many dates for all EFT clinicians to deepen their understanding of the EFT model and to continue their EFT learning with a supportive community. MORE ABOUT THE STRUCTURE OF THE GROUP... Typically there are two presentations per hour (30 minutes each). Other group participants learn through observation of the presentation and supervision. YOU CHOOSE HOW YOU INTERACT WITH THE MATERIAL You can choose to present a clip (this is done in advance and coordinated prior to the hour) or choose to learn by observing. WHAT IS REQUIRED IN A PRESENTATION? Each presentation includes a brief history of the couple, what is known of the cycle, one or two specific questions or areas to focus the supervision, and a 10-15 review of the video plus discussion. DOES ANY OF THIS TIME COUNT TOWARD SUPERVISION? If you are presenting, it counts towards supervision time towards certification. If you are observing, it counts for an hour of group.
