Dear Patients, While COVID-19 is a novel virus, we anticipate that this outbreak will continue for a while, and do not want our patients to neglect their eye care needs during this critical time. We have decided to reopen our office as of May 4th by appointment only. Our office is prudent and has adopted specific measures to protect our patients and staff from potential exposure to COVID-19 during this time of uncertainty. The Center for Disease Control (CDC) has set guide...lines to prevent the spread of infection, which our staff is rigorously following. We will employ a strict office policy that mandates that our office staff and patients not enter if they are feeling unwell or have a fever, cough, sore throat, runny nose, shortness of breath, or have been exposed to a known case of COVID-19 or travelled outside of the country within the last 14 days. In response to COVID-19 social distancing precautions, we kindly ask our patients to limit family and friend accompaniment to appointments. Unless under the age of 18 or in need of medical assistance, we will only allow those with appointments to enter our office. Our staff may ask you to wait outside rather than in the waiting area in order to protect yourself and others from any circulating germs. We will be requiring all patients with appointments to come wearing a mask. Furthermore, we are trying to schedule our appointments in such a way that our waiting room remains as empty as possible. In an effort to limit staff-patient and patient-patient contact, we are no longer accommodating walk-in services. Appointments that need to be scheduled include: Routine eye exams Medical office visits Frame adjustments and repairs Frame selections Pick-up glasses and/or contacts Until further notice, we will not be offering contact lens trainings. Should you have any questions or have any doubts, feel free to call. As COVID-19 has become an evolving and uncertain public health issue affecting people globally and close to home, our office wants to emphasize that our patients' health, safety and well-being are of the utmost importance. (Updated: April 1, 2020) Dear Patients, As always, Dr. Hirano takes hygiene and safety very seriously.... After much thought we have decided to be available for the following services ONLY: - Glasses pick-ups - Contact lens pick-ups and contact lens phone orders (Please call the office for contact lens ordering information) To keep you and our staff safe we will take payments over the phone and offer CURBSIDE PICK-UP ONLY. If glasses need to be adjusted we are asking patients to wait until at least May 1st or when it's safe to do so. Our offices hours for pick-ups: Mon-Fri: 9am-4pm Sat: 8am-1pm *Please note we will not be letting patients in the office for frame selections, ordering of lenses in existing frames, adjustments or repairs* We thank you for your understanding and look forward to seeing you again soon.
