Starting tomorrow, due to a short supply of vaccines from the State, County sites will only be administering second doses for the remainder of the week. To rece...ive a vaccine at these sites, you must have an appointment or be due for your second dose at these locations, and provide the necessary documentation. If you did not receive an email for your second dose, you can still be seen at your designated location on the day of your second dose, as long as you provide proof of your first dose vaccination.

There has been some confusion regarding the distribution of vaccines in Los Angeles County. The State of California announced this week that health departments... may begin vaccinating people at tiers that include people of age 65 and over. However, that does not mean that all regions and health departments in the State have sufficient vaccines on hand to take advantage of those expanded tiers. L.A. County has announced they are only vaccinating healthcare workers at the present time due to limited vaccines they have on hand. They will move on to vaccinating people in the next tiers, such as people over the age of 65, when they complete healthcare worker vaccinations. The distribution of COVID-19 vaccines in Downey is managed by the L.A. County Department of Public Health. To get the latest information on vaccine distribution, please visit the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health website: http://publichealth.lacounty.gov/media/Coronavirus/vaccine/ Here, you can sign-up for the County’s vaccine e-newsletter to find out when a vaccine will be available to you.
