We interviewed John Mack, Dome's BIM Department Manager, a pioneer in the field with close to four decades in the industry. Over 35 years ago, John joined the plumbers union, following in his father's footsteps. What started as a hobby, building 2D plans, became his first detailing project doing 3D modeling. It was at that moment that his hobby became his passion. John was at the forefront and a leader in the now widespread adoption of BIM. Join us in congratulating James Butler on his recent promotion to Senior Project Engineer! James grew up with his father and grandfather in the construction industry, and from an early age, he knew that he wanted to follow in their footsteps. Jackson Butler, James' father, also a fellow Domite, started as a pipefitter with his father when Jackson was in his early 20s. It was always a dream for James to work alongside his father, just like his father and grandfather were lucky... enough to do. James attended California State University, Chico, where he received his degree in Construction Management. During the last two summers of college, James worked as an intern at Dome. In 2015, James graduated from college and joined Dome Construction full-time. Over the last five years working within the Biotech and Life Sciences sector, he has gained invaluable experience and building lasting relationships on campuses throughout the Bay Area. In his free time, James loves spending time with his wife, Jessica, and his eight-month-old son, Jackson (named after his father). And when he is not with them, he enjoys being outdoors, hunting and fishing, and occasionally helping out at buddy's cattle ranch.

Congratulations to Anthony Faye for his recent promotion to Project Manager. Anthony grew up in the construction industry. Originally from San Diego, Anthony's parents own and operate a Mechanical and General Construction company. Naturally, he grew up working as an apprentice during the summers and estimating during the school year. Anthony attended Chico State University, where he received his degree in Construction Management. After college, four years ago, Anthony land...ed at Dome as a Project Engineer. During his first three years at Dome, Anthony worked on a handful of projects on the BioMarin campus, where he formed lasting relationships with the team. Currently, he is working on the Novartis Emeryville Relocation project, which is nearing completion. When Anthony isn't working, you can find him trail running with the Dome East Bay Office (DEBO) crew and ultra-runner/Director Ralf Elsaesser. In 2021, Anthony has set his eyes on accomplishing a 65 mile run from Mount Tamalpais to Mount Diablo! Join us in congratulating Kaysen Brennan on her promotion to Sr. Project Manager! Kaysen, originally from Northern California, graduated from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo with her Bachelor's degree in City and Regional Planning. After graduation, Kaysen's friend encouraged her to apply for her first job with a General Contractor, and she got it! Since joining Dome over four years ago as a Project Manager, she has managed large Life Science and Biotech projects, most notably, Sa...ngamo's Brisbane Headquarter relocation. In 2019, Kaysen took a sabbatical to hike the Pacific Crest Trail. Her 2,650-mile hike began at the Mexican border, ended at the Canadian border. In total, she spent five months on the trail completing her trek! We're excited to announce the promotion of Natasha Ferreira to Project Engineer! Natasha joined Dome in 2014 as a receptionist and quickly progressed to our insurance coordinator, Project Coordinator, and most recently, Project Controls Engineer. Senior Project Manager Colum Cronin shares, "She has been an integral part of our team, from mastering our accounting software, training our team members on various software and procedures, developing SOP's for Dome, and overall impr...oving our efficiencies. Over the past year, Natasha has taken a leadership role in developing and managing our project coordinator staff in South San Francisco and Thousand Oaks." Natasha is reliable and a self-starter, continually acquiring and developing new skills. Natasha readily volunteers and jumps outside of her comfort zone to support our team. Natasha has been continuing her education and taking classes towards her Construction Management certificate. Beyond her work performance, Natasha has also been a significant contributor to Dome's culture as an active member of our events and philanthropy committees. Her positive attitude, appetite to take on more, courage to question the status quo, and overall ambition to improve have been welcome additions. After spending three years with another construction company, Rachel came to us, and before that, she was a branch manager for Wells Fargo. According t...o Senior Project Manager Column Cronin, She came to Dome in search of a place where she could move beyond a project coordinator and contribute more, and Rachel has done that. He goes on to say, She has taken on a vital role in our group, where she has improved our invoicing and TOP processes and owned our compliance status with a critical client. Rachel accomplished all this while learning our systems so well that she is now the go-to resource for new hires and those of us who need a Viewpoint tune-up here and there. Since joining Dome, Rachel has gone back to college, where she made the Dean’s list. On a personal level, Rachel has transformed herself and become a fitness enthusiast. She is at the gym at 5 or 6 in the morning every day. In addition to all of this, Rachel is raising an incredible son, William, who just entered his freshman year of high school. Did we mention she takes her 94-year neighbor to all of her doctor’s appointments and does all of her grocery shopping? Rachel has also been a great recruiter for Dome, bringing in two high-quality individuals. It has been an honor to watch Rachel grow and achieve, and we are excited to see what she accomplishes next! David started with Dome in May of 2017 as a Project Coordinator and immediately thrived at Dome, making outstanding contributions as our Team Biller. He continued his education and received a certificate in Construction Management and was then promoted to Project Engineer. David has been a critical contributor on many of our projects and has become a trusted point... of contact for our clients (they call him first) and has played a crucial role in mentoring new team members along the way. This #FeatureFriday we are pleased to take you inside one of our favorite South Bay projects! This project is a testament to our team's adaptability and expertise that improved project rhythm and increased transparency with our key trade partners and client. Our teams are armed with all the necessary COVID-19 safety protocols and procedures to keep themselves and our partners safe while on site. This 24,000 square foot robotics lab & open office buildout included: 8,500 sf of... open office space, 8,000 sf state of that art robotics lab, & a kitchen and dining space. This project also features a cozy, private library, a game room, patio, private mother's rooms, and a peaceful meditation room. This project also required flood mitigation measures to meet the requirements of the City of Mountain View. A beautiful design by @DGA Architects brought to life by our trade partners and craftspeople. Thank you to this entire project team for your dedication to delivering this innovative and modern space.
