Calling all Creatives! While the Doctors House is closed to visitors, we’re reaching out to our community for your creative ideas for the future. When the Museum reopens, our first Special Exhibit will display models of Glendale Landmarks (existing or demolished) -- made by you! Choose any nonperishable medium: you could construct the Doctors House from dry pasta, The Goode House of items from your recycle bin, the Glendale Sanitarium out of Lego -- you are your own rainbow...! For inspiration for your submission, please visit the TGHS website: https://glendalehistorical.org/landmarks ,simply take a scenic drive around town, or comment below! Let us know what you’d like to contribute to this exhibition. Please email the Museum Director at [email protected] with your favorite Glendale landmark and your ideas for its re-creation in a fabulous model. You are welcome to submit up to three separate ideas. We cannot wait to see the creativity you have to offer!

Film pioneer & animal rights activist, Nell Shipman, resided in the Doctors House from 1917-1920. Her family rented "the little white house" to please her tradition-minded parents, who preferred the quiet rural atmosphere of Glendale to "modern" Hollywood. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q0Pl-zRlMpI

The weather looks good for Sunday tours up at the Doctors House Museum! join us starting at 2pm last tour leaves at 3:45pm. Valerie will be bringing ice cream samples up to the house this Sunday! Suggested donation $5
