Lt. Col. Peter Nesbitt an instructor at the Naval Postgraduate School chose the #COVID19vaccine not because it may make his life slightly easier, but because many people for medical reasons will not be able to choose the vaccine, and they will be relying on all of us to provide immunity. It's a little word that can change the whole meaning when translating.

This will be the first of three phases for getting the vaccine to the more than 2 million active duty, reserve and civilian defense employees.

Beginning Monday, the gates at the Presidio of Monterey will have new hours, as listed in the image. Additionally, the Trusted Traveler Program will be reinstated effective November 9, 2020.

Service members posed profound questions about how they can help those who were faced with sexual assault and harassment as well as how to change the culture they live in.

On Monday, Defense Secretary Mark Esper immediately authorized physical fitness attire for wear by patrons at commissaries and military exchanges at Defense Department installations. The policy change includes service members, spouses and children.

DLIFLC welcomed incoming new Command Sgt. Maj. Ernesto Cruz this morning at the Presidio of Monterey and bid farewell to Command Sgt. Maj. Thomas Donehue, who served in the position of right-hand man to the Institute’s commandant for two years. Donehue will be retiring after 29 years of service this summer. Command Sgt. Maj. Cruz is a two-time DLIFLC graduate and will act as senior advisor to the commandant and DLIFLC leadership.

National Parks, wildlife refuges and other federal lands will all be free for veterans and Gold Star family members to use starting Veterans Day, Interior Depar...tment officials announced yesterday.
