Ok, I just checked, and I'm all up-to-date! I wanted to share so you could check, too.
Here in Southern California, we've been busy adapting to our new Regional Stay Home Order. This means, lots of businesses are having to close or reduce their operations significantly, and it's breaking my heart to see this happening before the holidays. I've been working with my nail spa clients to notify customers of their temporary closure and thought I'd pass along some of the helpful tools and strategies I've been using with them!... 1 SOCIAL MEDIA After tweeting or posting about your changes, you can pin the post to the top of the feed and also update the info in your profile or bio. If potential customers visit your website, you’ll want to make sure they have the latest information, like your update hours, sanitizing processes, and operating procedures. 2 EMAIL It doesn't have to be fancy or have lots of bells and whistles, but you'll definitely want to update current customers if there's going to be a major change to your business. You can even send a simple note from you Gmail or Outlook email account, just be sure to BCC everyone (don't put everyone in the "To:" field)! 3 WEBSITE If potential customers visits your website, you’ll want to make sure they have the latest information, like your update hours, sanitizing processes, and operating procedures. There are a few ways you can easily add this to your website without it being over the top or expensive: Add a note in the header or top banner of the site Create a pop-up window with an announcement Add a COVID-19 page/section 4 GOOGLE MY BUSINESS Since everyone likes to "Google it," it's important to make sure Google is displaying the right information when people look up your business on Google Maps and Google Search. They recently added more options in the "Info" tab for updating business hours and offerings. Here are a few I thought might be particularly helpful in our region: Senior Hour Delivery Hours Takeout Hours Online Service Hours Temporarily Closed (believe it or not, this is a NEW option!) 5 YELP BIZ If you get a lot of business or referrals from Yelp, you'll want to update your "Business Information" page with Yelp Biz. You can mark your business temporarily closed with a projected reopening date, or if you're still operating, you can select from several new options in the "Amenities" section that are specific to the pandemic, such as: Mask required Temperature checks Hand sanitizer provided RESOURCES Google My Business - https://www.google.com/business/ Yelp - https://biz.yelp.com/login
American Express just released its FREE Shop Small toolkit, including customizable social media posts, posters, and other marketing materials, to help encourage shopping and supporting small businesses this holiday season! Even if you don’t accept Amex or you’re not an official Amex Merchant, you can still take advantage of these free tools!
Lots of great tips on how to be more efficient - but I think I'm going to struggle with #4 How about you?
I had no idea you could do this, but I just set it up! It's going to be so much faster to create and send Zoom meeting links this way
