Dr. Robert Gebhart has retired this month from Desert ENT. We thank him for his extraordinary service, leadership and dedication to the Desert Community for over 41 years. Dr. Gebhart has touched thousands of patient's lives over his career. We wish him much happiness in his well deserved retirement!

Desert ENT is proud to announce that Dr. Mark Wilson has recently joined the practice! He completed undergraduate degrees in Chemistry and Biochemistry at Michigan State University. He then obtained his Master’s degree in Physical Chemistry at Harvard University prior to returning to Michigan for his medical training. He received his Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Michigan, and then entered General Surgery internship at the Henry Ford Hospital, completing his residency in Head and Neck Surgery there as well. Dr. Wilson is Board Certified in Otolaryngology/Head and Neck Surgery as well as Allergy.

Desert Ear, Nose & Throat has been proud to be affiliated with Eisenhower Medical Center since the doors opened in 1971! Not only was the hospital ranked #1 in Riverside and San Bernardino Counties and #21 in California, but it also is only one of only 63 hospitals across the country (out of over 4500) that had the highest performing ratings that were evaluated.

The Hearing Institute can determine whether you are a candidate to try a Lyric hearing aid, called the "contact lens for the ear". This hearing aid is completely invisible, requires no battery changes, and is removed and replaced by the Audiologist every several months.

Desert ENT has a CT scanner located in the office, which allows a complete evaluation of sinusitis and nasal obstruction. The scanner also delivers a fraction of radiation compared to hospital CT equipment, and the results are available for immediate review.

This is an exciting new option for patients with severe hearing loss that don't yet qualify for cochlear implantation. Wade Zarella first joined the Hearing Institute in 1995 as Director of Audiology. He holds a Master of Arts degree in Audiology from San Jose State University and a Doctor of Audiology degree from Arizona School of Health Sciences. We are so lucky to work with such a fabulous Audiologist for almost the past 20 years!
