Happy New Year! We are excited to return in 2021! Our 3rd quarter started on January 19. Our school year is officially at the half way mark.

Students do "Gumdrop Geometry." Students had to create squares, cubes, triangles, & pyramids and then count how many gumdrops and toothpicks each shape needed.

Happy Veterans Day. We remember those who have served. School IS OPEN on this day and classes will resume as usual.

Today starts our annual outreach project: Operation Christmas Child. This year we are offering two options to complete your box. Option #1: Personally fill & complete a box, print out your label, pay $9, & drop it off at one of the drop off locations nearest you. Locations are available on the website. Option #2: Build a shoebox online. You choose the toys & items on your computer and they will complete your box for you for a donation of $25.... Shoeboxes can be dropped off during November 16-23. Online donations can be completed until December 5. Desert Adventist Academy is OPENING!!!! Our waiver has been approved and doors open OCTOBER 5 to our students. There is much to do to plan and prepare. Students return to on campus learning! Students eat lunch outside sitting 6 feet apart. They wear masks, use their Chromebooks to access many educational websites, & watch the pastor on Zoom for Friday's chapel. Things look a lot different...but we are glad to be back together again.

Students in grades 2-4 participated in the fall's assessment of MAP on September 30 & October 1. Students will be assessed again in the winter & spring to see their growth.

It was a good first day! Grades K-4 started their Zoom classes with big smiles.

DAA IS STILL ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS! School starts August 24. Teachers are already making plans & participating in training to make sure your child continues to receive quality Christian education via distance learning. Already in the works is a new math curriculum: Big Ideas Common Core which includes a digital platform. Teachers will also have access to Swivl for all their video recording & Zoom needs!
