The first thing to understand about night guards is that they are there to protect your teeth and will not actually prevent the grinding or clenching itself. The most damaging consequence of night grinding is the deterioration of tooth enamel. When under stress, the muscles in the jaw tenses and tightens during sleep. ... This clenches the teeth together, sometimes resulting in a grinding motion that grates the upper and lower rows against each other. If you frequently wake up with a sore jaw, a dull headache or tooth pain, you may want to ask us if you are suffering from a condition called bruxism.

Fun Fact If you brush your teeth twice a day for two minutes each time, you will brush your teeth for about 24 hours each year, or 76 days over the course of your life! All this brushing will use about 20 gallons of toothpaste.

Did you know if you've been sick with the flu or even a cold, you should toss your old toothbrush once you're better? Germs live on your toothbrush and can make you sick again for a longer period of time.

Do cold or hot foods cause pain for your teeth? If it does, your teeth sensitivity is due to nerve exposure most commonly at the gum line. Brush with soft bristles, floss daily, and ask us on tips to enjoy your favorite foods and drinks pain-free.
