Davis Bridge Program 17.01.2021

Many of our Harper Jr. High Students don't have a lock, scientific calculator, or P.E. clothes for back to school. Do YOU want to adopt one and make sure he/she is ready for school next week? Message us for information on how you can make a difference for a student!

Thanks to the generous donation from Backpacks for Kids to the Montgomery Elementary School Davis Bridge Program, we now have over 120 backpacks and school supplies. Now many of our elementary school students can begin the school year prepared but we still have families in need, especially for our Junior High and High School students. If you would like to help and donate a backpack and/or school supplies please contact Julie Ramirez at [email protected]

Please read this article in the Davis enterprise from May that provides information on the closing of the Davis Bridge Educational Foundation and transition into the hands of the Davis Joint Unified School District. We hope to keep this Facebook page open in an effort to continue providing information on the Bridge program. We are committed to ensuring that every student and family continues to receive the very best education they can and we hope our community will continue supporting us in this journey.

Davis Bridge Program 20.12.2020

Dear Students: Today, I would like to encourage you to voice your choice for our new Student Affairs Vice Chancellor. We have a wonderful opportunity to support one of the candidates, Dr. Adela de la Torre for this very important position. Dr. de la Torre is a professor in Chicano Studies, past Department Chair of our department and is currently acting as the interim Vice Chancellor. I was able to attend the public forum yesterday where Dr. de la Torre gave her vision for ...UC Davis. I especially appreciated her vision that included the needs of all students at UC Davis. Dr. de la Torre has a track record of supporting the issues and concerns that pertain to students of color and other marginalized groups. Please take 5 minutes to read the CV’s of the 3 candidates. It is critical to write at least a one-line request to the search committee that states your support Dr. Adela de la Torre as their choice for the new Student Affairs Vice Chancellor. Many students and staff across the UC Davis campus are writing in support of one of the candidates. It is critical to also hear from students who support having a new Vice Chancellor that can bring some balance to the existing structure while advocating for students who may not always have a strong voice on this campus. As students, we sometimes get so caught up in our own present work that we don’t always make the time to be activists. But here is an easy opportunity for you to make you voice heard. Please join me right now in writing your choice for the new Vice Chancellor. Your email matters and can make a difference in which candidate is chosen! Here are the links to the search committee where you send your short email to and the link to read about the candidates. The deadline is tomorrow by 2pm.!! This is just a friendly reminder that you have to submit your comments/concerns/recommendations to the search committee by 2pm on Friday June 7th. This is a critical position for you and the UCD Community, make your voice heard! Please send your comments to [email protected] and If you would like to review the Candidates and CV’s once again you can find them here: http://chancellor.ucdavis.edu//vc-student-affai/index.html Thanks, Janet Boulware

Happy Mexican Mothers day to all the moms out there. A special hug goes out to Janet Boulware, our Executive Director, for being a second mother to so many students and tutors in our program. Your kind and wonderful heart has truly made you a mother for so many in our community. Thank you!
