Over the weekend, one of our staff members and her daughter went to Shelter Basics class at Front Street Animal Shelter. I remain impressed by the Shelter’s volunteer training system, she says. There is a colony of feral cats living around the animal shelter. Some are semi-friendly, others not. They met a beautiful happy-looking one named Mr. Tom Jones toward the end of the class. Mr. Tom Jones was hanging out in the laundry area absorbing heat from the dryer looking re...ally pleased with himself. That class qualified them to sign up for Shelter Help hours and they are scheduled to return next Saturday from 3-6 to help out with kennel cleaning, laundry, or dishes, depending on what needs done when we get there. David Allen employees are huge on helping the community to leave it better than the way they found it. It is important for us here to be care about helping those that are injured or disabled as well. Yesterday David Allen was called and appeared for jury duty. This year two other team members of our firm were called and appeared for jury duty. Jury duty is one of the two most important ways we as US citizens can keep government honest. Through the vote we can select our government. Through the jury system we can keep government honest through the rule of law. In the colonial era King George wanted to remove the right to jury from the American colonies. One of the reasons ...the colonists revolted and United States became independent was in an effort to retain the jury system. It is a system of justice unknown in much of the world. As a law firm we are proud to be part of a judicial system which empowers citizens with the right to participate in securing Justice.
