This past weekend Darpana Reflector Series was honored to present the very first concert through the platform. What started as a vision for workshops and lecture demonstrations, took form to host it's very first student showcase by disciples of @deepacrish we were delighted and overwhelmed with the esteemed presence of @vasudev.sridhar and special guest @raginichandershekar !! Thank you for all your support and cheer for a grand and successful start.. The girls trained so well by Smt. A year ago, I set out with Darpanaa The Reflector Series as a platform and source for eager and aspiring learners of this beautiful art form. The intention was to provide an opportunity to zoom into various aspects of the art form under the able guidance of our esteemed artists who bear this treasure of knowledge with them. Although we were all forced into a worldwide lockdown due to the pandemic, it opened new doors and taught us to use the online medium for the purpose of l...earning. With the grace of Lord Almighty and all my Gurus, we were able to have stalwarts in the field of Bharatanatyam to conduct web-based workshops. Over this past 1 year, we have conducted four workshops with artists such as Sri. Vaibhav Arekar, Dr. Sridhar Vasudevan, Sri. Pavitra Krishna Bhat and most recently with Smt. Karuna Sagari on various important and intriguing concepts of the art form. As we approach completion of a successful year, it brings me immense joy to announce that with a little modification, this Darpana Reflector Series will be a platform serving not only as a medium to learn but also perform and showcase through virtual concerts. Aspiring students will be hand picked based on a form submission. We also hope to be able to bring to you lec-dem and performances by esteemed artists which again is a great learning medium. So here we present our first virtual concert outside the boundaries of Nritya Laya Darpana under the banner of Darpana Reflector Series. Presenting a Bharatanatyam Concert by students of Smt.
