Daihachi Yamazaki, Ph.D., L.Ac. 17.11.2020

Today would have been Dr. Yamazaki's 69th birthday, and had he not become sick, I know he'd still have been working hard to help his patients overcome their pain. There's not a day that passes that he's not missed. Still hard to believe we've lost such an amazing healer, and just such an amazing man, husband, and father.

Missing both of these amazing creatures, both gone too soon. This photo was taken in Sept. 2007 of Daihachi and baby Murphy. Both were so filled with love!

This is my girls' 2nd Father's Day without their dad, Daihachi Yamazaki, who passed away on May 21, 2016 due to esophageal cancer. He is missed every single day! This photo was taken of him and our youngest daughter not long before he died. We will be forever grateful that he was in good spirits until so close to the end.

From the family of Daihachi Yamazaki: This Saturday, April 15th at 8am in William Land Park (we're meeting at the Amphitheater near the Zoo and Fairytale Town), please join us in the first inaugural Sacramento Esophageal Cancer Awareness Walk. It may be a small event this year, but everything starts somewhere, and perhaps we'll be able to make it much larger next year, and who knows how big it might eventually become! Esophageal cancer is quickly on the rise, yet it can often be preventable if people don't ignore some of the warning signs like acid reflux. Our goal this year is to simply start the process of awareness. It won't be anything fancy, but we still hope you might be able to come out and join us for a nice walk through the park.

It is with heavy hearts that we inform you that Dr. Daihachi Yamazaki, passed away on Saturday, May 21, 2016 after a 7 month battle with esophageal cancer. He worked until a week before his death, with most people he interacted with not even being aware of his illness. His family, wife Heidi, daughters Christie (and son-in-law Sebastien), Michelle and Lindsey miss him more than words can say, but are also thankful he is no longer suffering. Rest peacefully, Daihachi. Per D...aihachi's adamant wishes, there was no announcement in the paper, and we have not had any sort of 'Celebration of Life." We contemplated having some sort of get together that hopefully he wouldn't have objected to, but haven't managed to do that yet. If we make any decisions, we will post them here. You can also send an email to [email protected] with your request to be notified. Although email is the easiest for his family to deal with, you may leave a message at (916) 486-8122, since calls to that number will be forwarded to a cell phone until further notice. However, please note that we have not been checking voice mail regularly, and some of your messages may have been deleted automatically even before we listened to them. Email or snail mail are the best ways to reach us. Mail sent to 3430 Balmoral Drive, Suite 3, Sacramento, CA 95821 turned out NOT be be forwarded (something about the fact that his business name was his personal name, and mail sent to an individual at a business address will NOT be forwarded), so please send any mail to 8105 Rush River Drive, Sacramento, CA 95831.

Rest in Peace, Daihachi. 9/29/48 - 5/21/16. You are forever in our hearts, and we miss you SO much.
