’ The Lincoln Center in New York City is arguably the most famous and prestig...ious performing arts center in the United States. It is home to iconic companies including the Metropolitan Opera, the New York Philharmonic, and the New York City Ballet. The world-renowned Juilliard School is also a key part of the Lincoln Center, training generations of top artists in dance, music, and drama. This month, Cypress Envirosystems is helping the Juilliard School modernize its HVAC controls to improve comfort and to reduce energy use. Although the Juilliard building was state-of-the-art when it was constructed in the 1960’s, it lags in automation, sensing and controls technology which we now take for granted in modern buildings. We are proud that our Wireless Pneumatic Thermostat can help improve the operations of this priceless institution. #energyretrofit #hvac #wpt #pneumatic

Exelon’s massive Calvert Cliffs Nuclear plant was built in the 1970’s. It is hard t...o remember, but that was a time before the internet and cell phones, and even before digital sensors. It is a marvel of engineering so much was accomplished using mechanical, analog, and pneumatic technology to deliver reliable and safe power over so many years. But such a plant requires intensive manual labor to operate. It is prohibitively disruptive and costly to upgrade to modern digital technology. In 2017, Exelon partnered with Cypress Envirosystems to deploy non-invasive IoT sensors to digitalize the plant they can be installed in minutes at a fraction of the cost of conventional technologies. Once installed, plant systems can be remotely monitored to enable Condition Based Maintenance. Tim Baugher and Bill Ansley from Exelon documented how the Cypress IoT sensors enabled early detection of faults in the plant’s feedwater control system. This allowed preventive maintenance work to correct the problem in a timely manner and avoid costly last-minute repairs or unplanned downtime. & P&G owns some of the most well known and trusted brands in the world. Billions of consumers depend every day on Pampers, Tide, Ariel, Gillete, Oil of Olay, and Bounce to name just a few. Dozens of mega P&G facilities worldwide produce and feed the sprawling supply chain. Christina Francis is the global Fire Protection leader for P&G facilities. At a recent webinar hosted by SFPE, she ...explained how most sites still use mechanical risers, valves and pumps which do not support remote monitoring. Christina shared P&G's efforts to "digitize" these systems to improve safety and reduce cost. Cypress Envirosystems is proud that our Wireless Gauge Reader is part of P&G's vision for the future. Our non-invasive technologies can upgrade existing plants in hours without impacting operations, at a fraction of the cost of traditional solutions. This week we just completed the deployment at P&G's largest site, and we look forward to more in the coming months. View Christina's video here: https://lnkd.in/gTpEZUs

Our four college students are studying in all parts of the country Northeastern in Boston, DeAnza in the Bay Area, University of California Davis in Sacramento, and University of Illinois in Urbana Champaign - and are pursuing challenging fields ranging from Computer Engineering to Bioengineering to Aerospace to Computer Science. They are diligent at practicing social distancing at work, and are learning and helping us in manufacturing and in software development!

Many organizations are finding ways to work remotely during the pandemic. For industrial sites, the Wireless Gauge Reader is a fast and low cost way to "digitize" legacy sites to enable remote monitoring/diagnostics and control.

, . Even before the Coronavirus struck, many existing factories and buildings were digitizing their facilities to enable remote monitoring and control. But retrofitting old facilities is expensive and disruptive to operations, so progress has been slow. Often, technicians still need to be physically on-site with clipboards to read dial gauges and i...nspect equipment. The COVID-19 crisis has made it imperative to work remotely - it is now much more urgent to digitize aging assets. Customers increasingly turn to our non-invasive IoT technology e.g. the Wireless Gauge Reader, which take minutes to install and offers remote monitoring/control and diagnostic capabilities. Our team has been busy installing at hospitals, nuclear power plants, federal agency buildings, semiconductor fabs and pharmaceutical plants during the pandemic. Through this time, we have the opportunity to see the dedicated effort from essential workers who put their own safety on the line each day to support our communities. We salute and thank them for their efforts!

CYPRESS UPGRADES PNEUMATIC CONTROLS AT THE LINCOLN MEDICAL CENTER IN NEW YORK CITY The NYC Health and Hospital Corporation (HHC) is the largest municipal healthcare system in the United States serving 1.4 million patients. The Lincoln Medical Center, founded in the Bronx in 1839, is a major acute care facility in the HHC system, with 362 beds. It has the busiest emergency department in New York City, and the third busiest in the country. The current building, constructed ...in 1976, has some of the most advanced concepts in hospital design at the time. But today, its aging environmental control systems impact patient comfort, require more energy use, and costs more to maintain. As part of a modernization effort, HHC selected the Cypress Wireless Pneumatic Thermostat (WPT) to upgrade the existing pneumatic controls. A key consideration for choosing the WPT is its unique non-invasive approach it can be installed quickly without impacting patients and ongoing hospital operations. It requires a fraction of the time and cost of traditional DDC upgrades. The WPT is a technology vetted and approved by the New York City government (DCAS) and is already used in over 100 NYC municipal buildings including hospitals, schools, universities, and courthouses.

Our Cypress Envirosystems team completes "Nuclear In Processing" training today! For the next two months, we are deploying our unique Wireless Gauge Reader (...WGR) technology to help digitize nine existing nuclear power plants, for three utilities, in five states. The upgrades will help our customers reduce cost, improve safety, and minimize radiation exposure to workers. While nuclear power generation is not without its challenges, this source of power is vital to a sustainable path to a lower carbon economy. We at Cypress are proud to play a part in this journey. #nucleargeneration #WGR #digitalization #digitaltransformation #CypressEnvirosystems #WirelessGaugeReader

50 years ago, this magical day changed my whole life for decades to come. As a six year old living in Hong Kong watching the blurry videos of the Apollo 11 lau...nch and moon landing, I already knew I wanted to work in the space program. This eventually led me to go to high school in America, then to study engineering at Stanford, and then to land my first job at NASA. It is funny how sometimes one event thousands of miles away (or in this case 240,000 miles away) can have such ramifications in life. What will the next 50 years bring? How many bright eyed young people will it inspire in the next generation?

The Bruce Nuclear Generating Station on the shores of Lake Huron, three hour’s drive north of Toronto, is the largest operational nuclear plant in the world. With its seven CANDU reactors designed in Canada, and a total capacity of over 6,000 MW, it is a massive facility. I had the privilege to visit this site today to learn of its successful history since first construction in the 1970’s, and also understand its ambitious plans to improve plant operations for the coming deca...des. The site has an intense focus on innovation, both in technology and processes. Currently, Bruce Power is undertaking an extensive modernization and digital transformation program. The non-invasive Wireless Gauge Reader from Cypress Envirosystems is a key innovative technology considered for wide-scale deployment at this impressive plant.
