The Truth about Sugar When someone describes a meal as "a heart attack on a plate," what do you imagine? Steak and eggs with a side of fries, perhaps? You wouldn't be entirely wrong, but the more current picture might be a plate of donuts partnered with a 16-ounce regular soda. Get educated about the effects of sugar on your health and well-being. Check out this article from Curves' Inner Circle Blog ... https://www.curves.com/blog/nourish/the-truth-about-sugar #CurvesStrong #StrongerTogether #InnerCircle #HealthyEating

Wouldn't a good stretch feel amazing right now? Not only does stretching feel great, it's a crucial part of a Curves workout. You always want to stretch muscles that are warm or just exercised. A warm muscle will be more pliable and will be less likely to get strained. The Upper Body Stretch focuses on some of the most overlooked muscles when stretching. Stretch to the point of tension and hold. Hold each stretch for at least 15 seconds. Breathe deeply. Avoid bouncing or exce...ssive pulling. Want to see how Curves can help you? Give us a call at 559-298-3100 today! #CurvesStrong #StrongerTogether #Stretch #Upper Body #exerciseismedicine #gymsaresafe

June is Alzheimer's and Brain Health Awareness Month. Curves has partnered with WomenAgainstAlzheimer's to help unite women across the globe to find a cure for Alzheimer's. Early detection and diagnosis is a major focus for WomenAgainstAlzheimer's. They are working with internationally renowned experts to outline a strategy for early diagnosis of Alzheimer's and dementia. You can be proactive by ask your doctor about a "check-up from the neck up"! Ask your doctor about check...ing your brain health or cognitive function as part of your annual wellness exam. Like screening for cancer, heart disease, or vision problems, a regular cognitive assessment can help you and your doctor identify brain health changes early. Why Early Detection and Diagnosis? It can be a relief to understand what is going on, for the individual with Alzheimer's and the family, and can provide time to plan for future care. It may allow preventive steps for brain health that could potentially delay some symptoms. Individuals with a cognitive impairment due to a treatable condition (not due to Alzheimer's) can receive appropriate treatments. Upon diagnosis, those with the disease can discuss treatments to slow progression with their medical professional. Scientists now believe that the damage to the brain that results from Alzheimer's disease may begin much earlier than previously thoughtas much as a decade or more before symptoms appear. And it is likely that treatment will be most effective at the earlier, pre-symptomatic stage. Those who are diagnosed will receive more rapid access to innovative treatments that may soon enter the market. They can also join a clinical trial registry or participate in a clinical trial.
