2020 has been a year... but books are always there to lift us up, escape, dream, educate, inspire, create empathy and understanding and so much more... What was a book that surprised, got to you in 2020? For me it was the #thebonesharddaughter by @andreagstewart the first in a fantasy series. The characters really got to me, they didn’t have a super hero complex, had a good dose of self doubt. However, when it came to it were decisive and strong (enough, but not too much :-).... It made the characters very relatable and human to me. Dear Friends, Though I am usually a private person about my personal life, I wanted to share with you that I am currently in intensive care at Barton with a double pneumonia. I came to the Emergency Department with alarmingly low oxygen levels, and I am very lucky to be alive. I unfortunately have a long health history of pneumonia’s. Despite taking the strictest protocols, both in my personal life and at Cuppa Tahoe, I contracted Covid-19, which is a sign of our increasing n...umbers, these are the times we are all living in. I’m on the mend and am so grateful for the incredible phenomenal superhero staff at our local hospital. And also, I luckily have a stack of books to help get me through! Books remind us of our shared humanityduring both good and difficult times. Cuppa Tahoe is reopening it’s doors (with as always, the strictest safety measures in place) on December 3rd with a healthy staff for socially distanced shopping and curbside pick-up. I won’t be there for a while, I still have quite a road of recovery ahead of me. I’m asking everyone to please be extra kind to my staff, this has been difficult for them as well. You’ll be happy to find that Cuppa Tahoe is also moving its inventory online, so you can shop from the leisure of your home, with curbside pick-up or free local delivery.
