We could not be prouder of the CSUSB Choruses; all of our outstanding student soloists: Rachel Dandridge, Erick Valencia; Olivia Barker; Hope Carr; our student composer Melody Del Real, who composed a brand new choral work that was premiered last night; our faculty members, Stacey Fraser who sang a stunning solo, and Alastair Edmonstone who played the piano so gorgeously; and our guest soloists, Elissa Johnston, Todd Strange and Abdiel Gonzalez for their fantastic singing. Congrats to all!

We are super excited to announce our next concert, Voices for a New Generation, Thursday, June 1, 2017, 7:30 at CSUSB Performing Arts Recital Hall! A mix of old, new, and brand new music is on the program, with top-tier professional soloists, pianist, and percussion! Concert Choir, our masterworks chorale, will present Schubert's timeless Mass in G, with guest soloists Elissa Johnston, Arnold Geis, and Abdiel Gonzalez, and our very own fabulous pianist, Alastair Edmonstone, D...MA. Chamber Singers, our elite contemporary music group, will present 21st century works from Philippine composer Normita Rio Pablico; Seattle-based composer Lauren McLaren; NY composer Moira Smiley; and a world-premiere choral work by CSUSB student, Melody Del Real: all contemporary female composers. Concert Choir, with the soon-to-be-renamed Chamber Singers, will present together Korean composer Hyo-Won Woo's space music, Me-Na-Ri, accompanied by CSUSB percussion students on Taiko drums and gongs, prepared by CSUSB's percussion professor, Todd Johnson, DMA. Our special guest soloist for this work is CSUSB's outstanding professor of voice, soprano Stacey Fraser, DMA. CSUSBs Interim Director of Choral Activities Lesley Leighton will conduct. Don't miss Voices for a New Generation!

Here's a wacky picture of Director of Choral Activities Lesley Leighton with Composer David Lang from Jan 2016 during a recording session at Zipper Hall with LA Master Chorale.
