Have you ever been curious about what equipment police officers carry on a daily basis? Here's a quick video so you don't have to wonder anymore. Because the regular duty belt forces the extra weight to sit on the hips and lower back, many officers choose to wear the outer vest so the weight of the equipment is more evenly distributed.

NOTE: Campus Safety Escort Update Although in the past we've allowed those requesting a Campus Safety Escort to ride inside a patrol/CSO vehicles, due to COVID-19, we can no longer do that. We still offer the service, but instead a student CSO or officer will drive, ride a bike or walk the individual to their location. Because a member of CSUF PD is not staffed specifically to provide escorts, wait times can vary based on availability and pending calls for service. ... Campus Safety Escorts are for those individuals who fear walking to their class, car or dorm at CSUF.

There is no excuse for driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol. Yesterday, our officers arrested an individual for not only driving under the influence, but also driving without a license. Hand your keys to a sober licensed driver, stay at the location until you're sober, call a friend/family member or use a rideshare service.... It's that simple!
