Realtors- the nature of your profession attracts dangerous predators. Reduce your vulnerability of cyber stalking and/or physical or sexual assault by being very careful about personal information you put on social media. Separate your personal and professional pages and set your personal page’s privacy settings to friends only. Potential clients have no need to see your vacation and family photos, nor have access to your personal life.

On 8/22/20, the North Ridgeville Police were dispatched to a Homecrest Drive address in response to an attempted abduction of a realtor. The realtor, a 54 year... old female, reported that she was waiting to show a home on the street when two males approached the home in a silver SUV. After a brief conversation the driver asked for a business card. When she returned to the vehicle to issue the business card, the driver grabbed her by the arm and attempted to pull her into the vehicle. The realtor reported that the male passenger yelled Get her in here! and let’s go! After a struggle, the realtor was able to break free and get into her vehicle and lock the doors. The two male suspects fled the area. The victim sustained bruises and cuts on her arm. An investigation conducted by the North Ridgeville Police Detective Bureau resulted in two adult males being arrested in connection with the abduction. They are identified as David J. Helton (45) of Vermillion, and Michael W.B. Evans (37) of Henrietta Township. Both were charged with Abduction, a felony of the 3rd degree and Assault, a 1st degree misdemeanor. Both were arrested without incident on 8/26/20 and were taken to the Lorain County Jail to await their arraignment at Elyria Municipal Court on 8/27/20. Edit: We appreciate the passion. We get it. We all have families and any one of them could have been the victim here. A couple things: 1. They've been arrested. They have not been convicted. We can't have mobs calling for their death. 2. Let's try to be better. Voice your concerns. Talk about how grateful you are that the victim is OK. Please refrain from the personal attacks based on appearance. Other than just being a good person, it's making life tough on moderation. C'mon....a little help here? Thanks.
