Season's greetings to you and yours! Since 1974, the Contra Costa Ballet Foundation has been sponsoring professionally staged ballet performances for the benefit of East Bay communities and providing scholarships to talented young dancers. This year has created quite the challenge. Although we are not in the theater this season and all performances have been cancelled for the 2020-21 season, the Foundation continues to have operational expenses such as warehouse storage, cos...tume maintenance and repair, etc. We are still supporting scholarship recipients and preparing for next season. Gifts from supporters enable the Foundation to offer beloved productions of The Nutcracker and Spring Repertory performances such as Sleeping Beauty and Alice in Wonderland to families throughout the Bay Area. These productions provide valuable opportunities for Contra Costa Ballet Centre’s dancers to perform with professional dancers and gain valuable experiences performing in professional venues like the Hofmann Theater at the Lesher Center for the Arts. Furthermore, annual gifts play an integral role in supporting scholarship recipients’ ballet training at Contra Costa Ballet Centre as well as the costs of the ballet productions. NEW for November! Due to recent easing of COVID-19 restrictions, Open Intermediate-Advanced Ballet classes will be held IN STUDIO beginning 11/1.
