This week at Crestavilla we are continuing February out right with Words of Affirmation. Today the teams walked the hallways with balloons & hearts to let our residents know just how much we appreciate them. During Our Happy Hour the Service & Kitchen team presented cards with welcoming and appreciating statements to our residents. They enjoyed together small Cucumber Cups served with Smoked Salmon & Dill Creme Fraiche and topped off with a glass of Champagne. #cheers #Crestavilla #lovelanguage #ourresidentsrock

Our Crestavilla teams were very busy these last days sharing the 5-Love Languages from Gary Chapman‘s book. For our first week we chose Words of Affirmation. We feel it is important to let our Residents know that we appreciate them in words and action. We shared a special chosen list of words with them. We had a special Happy Hour with Fortune Cookies for our Residents and expressed how much we appreciate them: You are amazing and we are lucky to have you. We served scrumptious Pork and Ginger Dumplings with homemade Ponzu Sauce accompanied by a Sake Cocktail garnished with lush luxardo cherries. Here at Crestavilla we are continuing to explore Cuba. We introduced Cuban Coffee and this afternoon we had a Happy Hour with Croquetta de Jamon and Cuba Libre.Today we learned so much about Cuba’s favorite dishes throughout a Zoom presentation. Their everyday food is Rice and Pork that is prepared in a hearty meal. Our Good Night story this week is a poem from Jose Marti, I dream awake. Jose lived in the last century but the words in his poem are still valid today. Our residents enjoyed exploring this country, #Crestavilla #our residents rule #worldculture

The humidity of the Antilles Islands is our cultural visit this week with Cuba. Our virtual Zoom programs offered the nostalgia and change happening within this vibrant community. Cuba is deeply seeded in tradition with its youth venturing into the future with innovative and new ideas. Music and dance weave the cultural fabric of this exotic culture while their political values impassion their thoughts of socialism. Our Indian week continues at Crestavilla. Today we introduced a Culinary Cultural Program and many of our Residents participated via Zoom. We have also introduced a High Tea Happy Hour with Mango Lassis and Indian Cheese pockets called: Paneer Potlis. Our residents enjoyed the different flavors and the introduction to a new culture. #crestavilla #ourresidentshadfun

Happy New Year!! Welcome 2021! We are already off to new adventures and fun for our residents. For the month of January we are exploring the Cultures of the World. We are starting off with India . Today we explored The ritual of Henna, and The Story of India. Interesting information was also provided in our publication the ‘Crestasol’ that our residents look forward to reading every morning. On the 12th Day of Christmas my true love gave to me.... today is Christmas Eve and we opened our last window. Decking the halls with a snow covered tree, hot chocolate, and Cookies! Our team sang cheerful Christmas Songs from door to door. Our residents welcomed us with a cheerful smile and enjoyed singing with us. Christmas Eve was welcomed with a special Christmas Dinner. Crestavilla Scavenger Hunt count down day 8- Today we introduced another healthy juice: CGH Iced Tea, Cinnamon, Ginger, and Honey Iced Tea- mmm quite tasty. The next clue is the letter L. Wow, what a busy, and fun day at Crestavilla! Scavenger Hunt Day 7 and Wine down the Coast. Many of our Residents joined us for our work out classes to find out the next clue, the letter B. In the afternoon they enjoyed a Napa Wine tasting with Educated Guess, 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon paired with a bite of Roast Beef Crostini, whole grain Mustard Aioli. They then tried Stag‘s Leap Wine Cellars 2018 Chardonnay- Karia paired with grilled Vegetable Crostini, and Mascarpone Pesto. Take a bite out of life! CHEERS! #crestavilla #funday #ourresidentsrule

Crestavilla Scavenger Hunt Day 6: we had many Residents participating in the Scavenger Hunt the last couple of days! Our residents absolutely love to drink healthy juices and exercise. This past weekend we served our healthy juice, The Green Machine, consisting of Cucumber , Celery, Green Apple , and a splash of Lemon Juice . It took our residents’ taste buds to another level! Crestavilla Scavenger Hunt Day 5- We offered a total Body Workout, the Walking Club and Tai Chi to our Residents to receive the next clue. We passed out letters to our exercising participants with the next clue, the letter E. Many of our Residents are so eager to find the result of the Scavenger Hunt! They are having so much fun enjoying our month of Health and Exercise! Wait for the next clue..... #crestavilla #healthandwellness #ourresidentsrule

Crestavilla Scavenger Hunt Day 4- our Residents enjoyed a Carrotini (Carrots, green Apples, a tiny bit of Olive Oil, and Ginger) over the weekend. We would also like to honor everyone that participated in our Alzheimer‘s Walk with us this weekend. Our residents found out that the next clue is the letter I. We loved seeing everyone enjoying their healthy juices. We cannot wait to share the next clue!! #crestavilla #wellness #ourresidentsrule

Sunday, October 11th Alzheimer‘s Walk at Crestavilla! Today was the walk to benefit Alzheimer’s with all our Residents invited to walk around our community. It was an exciting morning with healthy food and refreshing stations prepared for the walk. Thank you very much for all the donations that were given to Atria Signature Team for the Alzheimer’s Association. Yappy Hour at Crestavilla! So much fun to see all the dogs, cats, and birds that live at Crestavilla celebrating Yappy Hour with us today! We welcomed: Dax, Sophie, Macy, KC, and Babe the Cockatoo. Puppuccinos and dog treats were served for our furry Residents. And can you believe it Babe is a 42 year old Cockatoo!! Scavenger Hunt Day 2 - the residents at Crestavilla were very eager to find out the next clue in our Scavenger Hunt! Oktoberfest at Crestavilla ! Today, we invited all of our residents to enjoy traditional Bavarian Food to celebrate Oktoberfest. Oktoberfest is the largest Volksfest celebrated in München. It began in 1810 as a Wedding celebration that lasted for several days between the Crown Prince Ludwig and Princess Therese of Saxony-Hildburghausen. Since then it has become an annual tradition that many around the world celebrate as well. Our residents enjoyed a tasty beer with traditional food.
