We must demand that every single vote is counted and that a government elected by and for us is sworn in. No matter the outcome, we must stay focused and be ready to stand united to make sure our voices are heard. #CountEveryVote

What happens if your signature on your mail ballot doesn’t match your signature on file? What happens if you forgot to sign your mail ballot? You have the right to fix your signature... You have until 5pm 2 days prior to the day the county certifies the election to fix your signature. If you think you need to fix your signature or forgot to sign your mail ballot, you can contact the San Diego Registrar of Voters at (858) 565-5800 or [email protected] Remember to track your ballot at WheresMyBallot.sos.ca.gov and be up-to-date if your ballot was received and/or accepted. See the graphic from the CA Secretary of State for more info.

On average Latina women are paid 55 cents to every dollar white men are paid. It's even worse in California, where Latinas are paid 42 cents to every dollar white men are paid. Latinas have been among the hardest hit by the pandemic and suffer the worst pay gap in the nation. This is why we fight everyday to improve pay and working conditions! #LatinaEqualPayDay

There are critical propositions on the ballot. Our votes will have the power to rebuild our region. Check out our CA ballot measure recommendations at cpisandiego.org/2020-voter-guide. We have the chance to pass critical legislation that will reclaim funding for our schools, advance racial equity in education and hiring, and slow rising rents. We also have the opportunity to stop a regressive measure that will increase the criminalization and incarceration of our communities, and stop large tech corporations from circumventing labor laws. Remember to vote the WHOLE ballot. This election, we have the potential to make our lives more equitable and just, or set us back decades. Your voice matters and your vote can make a difference.

Environmental racism (and the subsequent chronic exposure to air pollution) has been identified as one of the biggest contributing factors to higher rates of severe illness and death from COVID-19 within Black, Latinx, and Indigenous communities. The fossil fuel industry receives billions of dollars in indirect and direct public subsidies every year, even though the industry has been in financial decline since 2014. The CARES Act even gave the industry nearly $110 billion in stimulus funding--far more than was allocated for healthcare supplies and investments. Our government must stop investing in dirty energy, financially hold them accountable for repairing the damage they’ve caused and bring energy resources under public ownership and control. #fuelingthefire #fuelingracism #makepolluterspay

Did you catch our mayoral forum last month? A recording of the webinar and the presentation slides are now available at cpisandiego.org/cba. This forum is an opportunity to get to know the two candidates and where they stand on key issues before you cast your vote. In the City of San Diego, the Mayor holds A LOT of power over the city budget and is a critical decision-maker when it comes to ensuring our communities have access to the resources they need. Follow Community Budget Alliance to stay engaged after the election. Do you have a plan to #vote yet? Our communities are counting on you. Check out cpisandiego.org/election for resources for voting and voting EARLY.
