Preparing the site required relocating 10 miles of utility lineswater, natural gas, sewer, storm drains & electrical wiring. Liquid nitrogen was injected into the soil to freeze the land to prevent water from seeping into trenches dug to uncover the lines. #TBT

The new bridge has 80 cables supporting the road deck. The new bridge is a cable-stayed design, with cables directly connected from the towers to the road deck (unlike a suspension bridge, which has cables draped over towers). #TriviaTuesday
