Our deepest condolences go out to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department We are saddened to announce the death of 48-year-old Sergeant Harry Cohen, most re...cently assigned to the Special Enforcement Bureau K-9 Unit. Sergeant Cohen passed away on Sunday, October 18, 2020, after suffering a heart attack while on-duty. He began his service with our Department on September 30, 1996. As a deputy, he worked assignments at the Banning Station, Lake Elsinore Station, and Southwest Station. In 2003, he promoted to corporal within the Southwest Station where he worked until his promotion to sergeant in 2010. Sergeant Cohen then worked assignments at the Perris Station, Moreno Valley Station, Ben Clark Training Center, PSEC, Special Enforcement Bureau, and K-9 Unit. He is survived by his wife, son and daughter. A husband, father, best friend and deputy: he will be deeply missed by all who knew him. STOLEN DOG ALERT!! PALMDALE/LITTLEROCK! Beautiful Layla went missing the end of July 2020. Her owners were heartbroken. She was their world and they looked e...verywhere for her, even enlisting the help of lost & found local dog networkers. Flyers went up, social media was blasted, but nothing. There were no sightings. UNTIL NOW!! We now know Layla was found within two days of going missing and is being kept by her finders and they WILL NOT RETURN her! She was found and taken to a vet by the finders and microchipped to them without looking for owners! Microchipped to a JENNIFER PENA and CESAR IGLESIAS in the Palmdale, Little Rock area who wanted to keep her without looking for her loving family! They WILL NOT return Layla. They have STOLEN her!! A police report has now been filed. The owners have even called, gone to the house and begged, even offered money for her return. The Palmdale Sheriff Department is involved but are moving slowly so we need your help! We need Layla returned asap! Someone, anyone who knows these people needs to tell them they are in possession of stolen property, which is also considered grand theft because of the value of Layla (her owners have all proof of vet records and the purchase of Layla dating back to her birth and purchase). They need to do whats right morally and legally!! Her owners are devastated!!!! Children are crying over not having their dog returned!! To any of my friends or rescuers in that area, please help us get Layla back! If you know this Jennifer Pena and her family please tell them to do the right thing. They are going to have to return her once court ordered papers are complete anyway but Layla has a medical condition and needs to be back with her family asap! The police report was taken by Deputy Jimenez of the Palmdale Sheriff station. If any of my friends have contacts there or with Palmdale AC please call the station or Animal control and ask to have her returned.
