Please go to this link and vote for the photo of the two Havanese in the kissing booth submitted by Patricia McNamara. Patty is a friend and generous supporter of UCARE. The winning photo will receive a $250 donation to the charity of choice. Patty has graciously chosen UCARE as her charity for this contest. Thanks. https://www.facebook.com//a.1015065415/10153449533790777/

Thank you to everyone who expressed interest in our recent litter of what turned out to be Coton/Maltese mix puppies. (We had them DNA-tested to be sure what they were exactly). They have all gone to their wonderful forever homes. If you did not get selected this time, please be patient and know that we keep all of the applications on file until we either find you a dog or you withdraw your application.

Our website is now accessible by iPad. It explains the process by which you must adhere to be considered for adoption. Please send applications by U.S. Mail to the address on the pre-adoption questionnaire. The questionnaire is not interactive. You must copy and paste into a document. Thanks.

For the first time in the 20 year history of UCARE we have a litter of puppies. You may recall that we were only able to save one dog from the recent auction. As it turned out, she was pregnant and is now the mother of 6 puppies. It is too early to tell if the father was also a Coton. Our foster mom, Kathy, has done a remarkable job with the mom and these babies including every two hour feedings of the weakest/smallest pup. For her, one foster dog turned into 7 overnig...ht. She is the epitome of a great foster mom - she attended the auction for us, she took on the task of being a midwife, recognized when the mom was in trouble during delivery and rushed her to the vet for a subsequent c-section (we lost one puppy from the litter of 7). She has endured sleepless nights waiting for the big event (and the night of the event and all nights since the event) and has put her life on hold for the sake of the mom and puppies. We can't thank her enough. We have many applications on file for a Coton puppy. Some people have been waiting literally years for the opportunity to adopt a baby Coton. Right now, we aren't even sure if the litter is 100% Coton, or perhaps is Havanese/Coton mix as Havanese was the puppy miller's other breed. He was divesting himself of all of his Cotons and Havanese at this auction. If we had not gotten this mom she would have probably gone to another miller like the rest of the Cotons in the auction. We will start now reviewing the applications we have on file for potential adopters for these pups. We have changed our policy on shipping so any potential adopter MUST be able to pick up the puppy or arrange for a UCARE-approved transporter at their own expense, in addition to the adoption donation. These puppies are located in Missouri. If you have submitted an application (required for consideration) and your information has changed, please send an updated application. It may be that some of our applicants have adopted elsewhere and are no longer interested in adopting so we are not limiting our review to only applications we have on file as of today. See more

Always happy to hear from our UCARE graduates. This is the beautiful Kyra, adopted in 2009.
