Quinoa poetically explained by our Customer and Friend Guy Wilson. Thank you for sharing with us Guy. We appreciate you! Now here is something new, Quinoa. Let us look at this grain, first and foremost we as Americans are used to the familiar grains. Rice, Corn, Wheat, etc. So let us discover something totally different from usual. this grain Quinoa has been around since the Incas, and they used it as a source of protein and come to find out it is a super pr...otein within itself. So now we have a bag of Quinoa and what do I do with it, let us look at it from a blank canvas perspective. the first thing we have to consider is that it has no taste so we are going to have to work on this. So now we have this little grain in a bowl looking down at it wondering where do we go from here. Let us look at it from a perspective from where we would have never considered, A blank canvas, at this point there is no right or wrong way to prepare this grain, just wash it first o.k. Remember there is no "taste," so the first thing we are going to do is add a broth, any broth will do, this is your picture, your artwork your "masterpiece" so there is no correct or incorrect way. It's your blank canvas and there are no limits to then imagination. Here are some Ideas Cut up the vegetables you like, cut into small pieces, how big or small it is your choice, remember this is your picture and how you paint it is up to you and your Imagination. Remember the broth because this is where the flavor will come from. Dried fruit, get some dried fruit slice up the large pieces, boil the juices out and until tender to your satisfaction then add the Quinoa and let it do its magic. You can now take it to work and when you need the quick need for something sweet there you have it. And remember there is no right or wrong, just a blank canvas, and your imagination.
