Today is the deadline to pay property taxes without penalty. 3/19/2020 News Release: Pursuant to Executive Order N-33-20 issued by Governor Newsom, the County Government Center offices are closed to the public until at least April 20th to help limit the spread of COVID-19. The Treasurer Tax Collector’s East County Satellite Office in Thousand Oaks will not be in operation this tax season. The April 10th property tax deadline remains in effect. SECURED TAXES ARE DELINQUENT AF...TER APRIL 10, 2020: Steven Hintz, Ventura County Treasurer-Tax Collector, announced that the April 10th deadline for Secured property tax bills is still in effect. The 2nd installment of the 2019/20 Annual Secured property tax bill is due as of February 1st and will become delinquent if not paid on or before April 10th. The Treasurer-Tax Collector’s Office does not have the authority to extend the payment deadline of April 10th and all payments received after this date will be assessed a late payment penalty. OFFICE HOURS AND LOCATIONS: Pursuant to Executive Order N-33-20 issued by Governor Newsom on March 19, 2020, the County Government Center offices are closed to the public until at least April 20th to help limit the spread of COVID-19. Our public counters ARE CLOSED at 800 South Victoria Avenue, Ventura, CA 93009. Additionally, the Tax Collector’s East County Satellite Office at 625 West Hillcrest Drive, Thousand Oaks, CA 91360, will not be in operation this tax season. To keep advised on current statuses, our website will be continuously updated. WAYS TO PAY: At this time, the secured tax information for Fiscal Year 2019-20 is available online for inquiry or payments. Payments can be made in the following fashions: ONLINE: Payments may be made online at prop-tax.countyofventura.org/ with a credit card (Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover are accepted) or electronic check. Processor’s convenience fees will apply including $1.50 per eCheck transaction and 2.15% per credit card transaction. USPS POSTMARKED MAIL: Payments should be remitted to the Tax Collector’s payment processor at PO Box 51179, Los Angeles, CA 90051-5479. Payments may also be mailed to the Tax Collector’s main office at 800 South Victoria Avenue, Ventura, CA 93009-1290. Check, cashier’s checks and money orders are accepted. The timeliness of mailed payments is measured by U.S. Postal Service cancellation mark. PENALTY WAIVERS AFTER APRIL 10TH: After April 10th, the Treasurer-Tax Collector’s office will consider written requests for waiver of late-payment penalties on a case by case basis, with proven significant economic hardship, directly caused by the Covid-19 situation.
