My sweet friend sent this to me this morning. I’m so thankful for the people in my life who can speak the words that are in my heart. Happy Thanksgiving.

None of us can deny that 2020 has been rough. For everyone, in one way or another. I have contemplated all of the loss but have also been reminded of what I have gained. As the year comes to an end, I’m thinking about the one consistency that I have held all year long. This consistency is Love. Have you thought about what this year has meant for you? For me, these thoughts take me to Jesus. The reason for Christmas. Religion leaves a bitter taste in my mouth so I prefer not ...speak of it. But Jesus. Jesus to me is not religion, He is Love, He is Light, He is Freedom. He lived his life for love and love alone. He reached out to the broken, to the lost. He spread love everywhere he went. He was never afraid to pack up his bags and move on to the next destination. To the next group of individuals that needed to know love. He never lived in fear. He wasn’t content living a mundane life. He knew that his time here was limited. He wanted everyone to know that even though they are broken that they are loved. And in this brokenness, is where we will find light, His light. I’m so incredibly grateful for the way He lived his life. He is and will always be the friend, the mentor, and the love that I take wherever I go. See more

Dinner date with these beauties. Happy 50th Christy!!!

My soul has always lived by the water. As a young girl my father would take my brother’s and I fishing. We would begin the morning by stopping at our favorite restraunt. Then on to pick up bait. Eventually ending up lakeside where my father sat in his chair, beer in hand and his line cast into the water. I loved this time, it was so simple and unrushed. He and I would sit together and gaze out at the water. I don’t remember ever speaking a word. We didn’t need to, our souls were communicating. They were speaking the language of love between a father and his beautiful baby girl. I long for those days, the simplicity, the feeling of sitting in his lap, gazing out at the beauty surrounding us. That beauty was only a small glimpse of the beauty taking place within us.
