VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR CSVP FREE TAX PREPARATION PROGRAM: Be a part of a team of volunteers who provide FREE Income Tax Assistance to our local community. Accounting experience is not necessary but must be comfortable using computers and commit to one day/week from February-April 2021. Training takes place in January. If interested in joining this incredible group of volunteers and signing up for an informational meeting, call the CSVP Office at 805-381-2742.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES: The Thousand Oaks Library needs volunteers for the VIRTUAL HOMEWORK HELPER program for kids K-8th grade. Volunteers can be 13-17 or adults 18 and over. From September 21st to October 16th, Many Mansions is participating in the 2020 A Community Thrives challenge to support their Children Services program. This yearlong program typically offers homework assistance, college and career prep, STEM activities, leadership and volunteer opportunities, summer camp, school supplies, and much more throughout the year. Needed now more than ever, the program currently also offers intensive 1-on-1 tutoring, student check-ins, technology support, meals and other food donations, and direct assistance to parents navigating virtual schooling. VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES: Caregivers: Volunteers Assisting the Elderly is a grassroots organization that provides good neighborly assistance to the elderly in our community that are unable to help themselves. It is a very rewarding way to give back to others that are in need. They foster a loving community family of volunteers that help seniors in need. For CSVP Volunteers interested in opportunities to assist seniors from your home, Caregivers offers a Phone Friends opport...unity, volunteers call homebound seniors to check on their wellbeing and to foster peer-to-peer friendship. CASA-Court Appointed Special Advocates: Become a CASA Volunteer-Join this informational session to learn about CASA of Ventura County and how you can make a difference in the life of an abused, abandoned, or neglected child. Lisa DiMolfetto has been President for two years and her term ends September 30th. During her leadership, ASA moved from working in garages into an 1800 square ft. store in the Thousand Oaks Janss Market Place. The organization has been successful at fundraising and securing donated items to ship to our troops. Lisa improved the structure of the organization and added strong Board members. The Board is searching for her replacement. Should you like to volunteer for this role, the search committee would like to hear from you.
