Character Development with Sam Filstrup Thursday, October 29 from 4:30-6:00 Join local Artist Sam Filstrup for a workshop on how to design characters! Learn all about the creative process and what it takes to come up with your very own character. Sam will show you how to look for references and how to go about forming the idea of the core of the character. This event is geared towards kids and teens. Registration with email is required. October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month and on October 21, at 3 p.m., Contra Costa County Library is hosting STAND! For Families Free of Violence, a catalyst for breaking the multi-generational cycle of violence by promoting safe and strong relationships and rebuilding lives. During this presentation you will learn about the dynamics and tactics of domestic violence, barriers that victims face, and the services and programs available to victims in Contra Costa County. Family Rock & Read Series Every Friday in October 3:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. on Facebook Project Second Chance is hosting online family literacy events with the Library's Youth Services team to share some simple ways to help kids develop the building blocks for reading with parents and caregivers at all literacy levels.... While these events target families with children ages 3-8, all are welcome. No RSVP is needed.
