This past Friday we had a Appreciation Breakfast for our clients. It was such a success. A huge thank you to Crystal Creamery for your generous donation and to the payees who cooked all the food.

I just wanted to take a minute to explain how our business came to be. My name is Elizabeth Ruiz and I am the director of the non-profit organization, Community Payee Services, located here in Modesto, CA. We are a community based payee agency that assists the disabled in managing their Social Security benefits. I started this business because of my first-hand experience as a representative payee for my disabled brother. After years of helping just him, I was lucky enough t...o start working at another agency, where I was able to help such an array of people. I learned so much while I was there, but I wanted to be able to offer a more personalized and locally supported payee experience. So I opened my own neighborhood payee agency, and I called it Community Payee Services. We are a non-profit business that works directly with the Social Security Administration, as well as serves clients of all backgrounds. Many of our clients are actually homeless, some are mentally disabled, some are physically disabled, and some are even confined to nursing homes. However, no matter the situation, we always strive to find a way to help our clients.
