Dear All, On behalf of the late Supreme Grandmaster Cacoy Canete family and the Cacoy Doce Pares World Federation, I wish to express our deepest condolences an...d prayers to the family of Senior Grandmaster Richard Bustillo whose sudden death shocked the martial arts world. We are profoundly devastated by the loss of another great martial arts icon in the stature of Senior Grandmaster Richard Bustillo, the first one to be promoted to 11th Grade Black Belt in Cacoy Doce Pares Eskrima-Eskrido-Pangamot. He and the late Supreme Grandmaster Cacoy Canete, both martial arts icons were best of friends who are now joined together in heaven not to retire forever but to continue another chapter in their eternal love for martial arts. Senior Grandmaster Richard was an honorable man, kindest of heart and generous to everyone around him including to my late father Supreme Grandmaster Cacoy Canete and to the Cacoy Doce Pares World Federation. That being said we are immensely and eternally grateful to him for everything that he did for us. He was a great leader most beloved by his students, friends and followers alike. Here is a simple flow drill: Blocking and alternating wrist lock take downs in a controlled manner. Eventually speed and power will be added.

Yesterday I attended a self defense folding knife seminar. Plenty of partners to workout with including martial artists and local law enforcement.

Here is one of the newest students working on wrist grab take downs blindfolded. First time ever being blindfolded and learned the take downs just minutes earlier.

Today we worked on wrist grab takedowns blindfolded. When you can't use your eyes you must use your other senses to feel the energy of your opponent. This was done in a relaxed controlled environment allowing the blindfolded victim to develop the technique.

Tonight we started defense against a knife wielding attacker from the rear who comes up and threatens from behind. Tonight was basic motions and next time we come together we will refine the movements.

Here is Senior Grand Master at 95 and still practicing. I am sure he will be up walking soon. What an inspiration to practice no matter what the challenge.

Some people are very lucky to train with great martial art teachers and don't have to go very far to learn the traditions of martial arts. Others are willing to improve their martial art skill by traveling to seek out the top masters of the world. I am fortunate and blessed to be able to travel to Cebu, Philippines to train at the World Headquarters of Cacoy Doce Pares and train with Grand Masters John Mac and Chuck Canete and visit with living legend Senior Grand Master Cacoy Canete. 3 days of intense training broken down to morning sessions of 3 hours followed by 3 hours in the afternoon. It is hot, humid and at times a bit painful, with bruises galore, blisters sore muscle and joints but in the end it will all be worth it. Thankfully my brother in law Olan is there to tape my beatings, I mean my trainings Ha Ha
