Are you looking for hands-on training? There’s still time to register for automotive classes that start on Monday: AT 106 Engine Performance (online lecture/in-person labs)... AT 141 Smog Check Inspector and Repair Technician - for those seeking their initial licenses (online lecture/ in-person labs) AT 170FF Smog Check Inspector Update Training - for current Smog Techs needing to renew their licenses (online) Late start classes include: AT 103 Practical Lab (in-person) AT 112 Heating and Air Conditioning (online lecture/in-person labs)
The Automotive Technology fall schedule has been updated. Please take a look. We’ve been working with administration on how we can offer the classes and administration approved online lectures with in-person labs. Labs will be modified to confirm to safety and county health guidelines. Masks will be required, distancing and other precautions will be in place. We have been working to prepare for the classes (online lectures and in-person labs with safety precautions). Unlike the sudden mid-spring semester switch to online courses, we have lead time to prep the fall courses that will be compatible with what students need and desire in automotive training coursework.

Although Covid has placed some obstacles in Career Technical Education, the automotive class has adapted and rocking their lab activities.
Brake caliper dust boot installation.
Eric Taylor gives the class a demonstration how to replace the brake caliper square cut seal and dust boot.
Drum brake disassembly and reassembly competition; 1st place is Dawson Wood (4:47 min) 2nd is Tom Vlavianos (4:52 min), 3rd Jesse Danberger (5:01 min). Good job guys!
Let’s get hands on!!
There is still room in the AT100 Introduction to Automotive Technology course. The course is online. Unlike the majority of automotive courses, this course covers general automotive topics, such as careers, certifications/licenses, history, fasteners: thread ID, tap/die, etc, systems overview, etc. The class runs from 8/24 to 9/14. A good portion of the class will not require ‘attendance’ at particular times, though there will be some sessions for which you must participat...e. A great class for those seeking a career in automotive repair, for those who are unsure, and want to explore the career path, high school students (who traditionally couldn’t take the class due to attendance), etc.
