I’m hoping that this is enough of a tipping point for colleges to go test-optional, said Jeff Schiffman, Tulane University’s Director of Admissions. If you were scheduled to take the SAT but couldn’t, don’t freak out, j...ust keep prepping. You’ll be able to take it over the summer and into the fall. AP exams will be online only this year, and only 45 minutes. Colleges are considering how they’ll award credit for these shortened exams. Some colleges could push deadlines later to allow students to test through the October or November (or possibly December) test sittings. This will vary by college. Here are some thoughts on how the COVID-19 pandemic WILL NOT impact the college application process for juniors; What won’t change for juniors Juniors should find their best-fit colleges through research, and work to articulate their fit through expressive essays. Students who apply to a balanced list of colleges are more likely to get more good news than those who apply to only super-selective colleges.... Colleges will evaluate grades from 9th, 10th and 11th grades. They’ll look for an upward trend, focusing more on courses with grades, as opposed to pass/fail. Strong letters of recommendation from teachers will be important. See more
