Happy Maundy Thursday! A special day when our Lord gathers in an upper room with his disciples with the simple meal that becomes the Lord's Supper (Bread and Wi...ne) and in an act of servant leadership (being servant of least and servant of ALL) washes his disciple’s feet. He does this Love Feast before he's betrayed into sin and death. No matter how the world sees you, no matter the many times you've questioned your belovedness, know that you are a son and daughter of the living God- Father, Son and Holy Spirit, know that Father through Christ, emptied himself of all divinity to experience the human condition in all its beauty and pain, to take on that cross on Friday to reconcile the human family to himself. Forgiving the unforgivable and loving the unlovable. Brothers and sisters- prayers are needed for me, my wife, and my family this weekend particularly on Saturday because it was on Saturday 6 years ago that my mom..., LaVonne Koester passed into glory. While difficult with time, it has surprisingly enough, gotten easier with time. Amidst the challenges and heartache, I continue to see the Lord's goodness and how he's working through us. I am also grateful for my mothering figures especially Jo Ann Bynum and Dawn Robert along with so many others that have seen me through the highs and lows and everything in between.
