Cost: Free Registration: on-line (CVEMSA website under Licence Management System (LMS)) Instructor: Chris Gossner **This will be the final class CVEMSA will host for the mandatory EMT Training required to re-certify as an EMT in California. If you do not take opportunity of this free training you will have to register with a training institution and complete the EMT refresher course to meet the new training standards.

Coastal Valleys EMS Agency would like to take a moment to congratulate one of our own, Doug Butler, for being recognized at the 2018 ImageTrend Connect Conference last month. Doug was one of three national finalists and ultimately selected as the winner of the Hooley Service Award. This award recognizes an individual that demonstrates his/her ability to understand the importance of using data to further the safety of the community and reach community goals. CVEMSA is honored... to have Doug part of our team. His passion and dedication to data program management has been invaluable over the years. Through Doug’s continued dedication to his work, CVEMSA has strengthened our opportunity to better serve Mendocino & Sonoma Counties. He has served as the president for the Emergency Medical Directors Association of California. His notable EMS achievements include developing the first stroke system in California. His career as a physician and EMS Medical Director was preceded by 16 years of pre-hospital, disaster and EMS experience in the fire service in Santa Clara County, attaining rank of battalion chief. Brenda Staffan, current COO of Integrated Services at REMSA/Careflight. Brenda has been nationally recognized for her work on the healthcare innovation grant awarded to REMSA to implement their three pronged approach to improving healthcare delivery in EMS: Community Paramedics, Emergency Communications Secondary Nurse Triage and Alternate Destinations. Before joining REMSA, Brenda had an extensive career in California EMS working on state policy as the Executive Director of the California Ambulance Association. Brenda has presented at numerous national conferences including Pinnacle and IAED Navigator conference.
