Those that know me know that there is nothing that I am more passionate about than sports. This is rooted in the positive experiences that I had growing up as a youth in Ventura County. And other than my own parents, no one has had a more positive influence on me than my high school football coach and mentor, Jon Mack. Coach Mack taught me about discipline, integrity, and the importance of hard work and dedication. Simply put, I would not be the man I am today without the gu...idance of Coach Mack. Last week Coach contacted me about a new position that he accepted as the head coach of Hueneme High School football. He was excited to tell me about the passion and enthusiasm of his new team, but concerned about the poor state of the program and their beat-up, worn down equipment. As a public school in an underserved community, they have little access to financial support, and are asking for any help that they can get so that they can field a team this year. I jumped at the opportunity to help and am working with a former teammate to try and raise $25,000 by the end of the month for this very deserving group of young men.
