CrossFit Provoke

Big thank you to everyone who donated clothes to @theboxcloset! Today the donations were dropped off at @nhfcommunity. Their recuperative care facility provides housing to folks experiencing homelessness that have recently been released from the hospital. Your donations are displayed in a store on campus where residents can shop with dignity and take whatever they need for free.

Fluffy to fit challenge Jan.6th- Feb.17th

The Box Closet was an organization started to promote physical fitness in lower income communities by distributing lightly used athletic gear. This year we are collaborating with a number of organizations that work with families in South LA and Ontario: National Health Foundation, Community Health Council, Immigrant Youth Coalition for Immigrant Justice, Warehouse Workers’ Resource Center, and the YMCA. These organizations do great work in addressing the various social inequi...ties that affect their local communities, health being one of them. Crossfit Provoke will be sharing stories of the fitness journeys of our athletes to highlight the impact fitness has on one’s physical and mental well-being. We hope that in learning others’ stories and reflecting on your own, you consider empowering someone else to start their own journey. We know that working out has a range of benefits from reducing risk of diseases to improving your mood. However for many, despite having this knowledge, the lack of resources is a barrier. Providing individuals the tools to make change is quite powerful. Find out if your box or gym is participating, and please do consider making a donation of workout gear. The greater variety of sizes, the more people we can distribute to.
