As the holiday season comes to a close and we put away our festive decor until next year, we'd like to provide some helpful reminders for Christmas tree disposal. - Live Christmas trees will be picked up by Republic Services during the 2 weeks after Christmas. (Artificial trees are not recyclable & must be treated as trash.) - Trees should be cut into sections of no longer than 3 feet. (Mini trees under 3 feet can be kept whole.)... - If possible, place the pieces of your tree inside your greenwaste cart for pick-up. (Remember: the lid needs to close!) Otherwise, leave them lying on their side at the curb next to your toters. - All ornaments, lights, tree stands, etc. MUST be removed. - Republic will attempt to pick up curbside trees on your regular trash day, but sometimes a different truck will come by at another time. If yours hasn't been picked up by the second week, please call us! The Solid Waste office can be reached at (559) 324-2604.

Check out our IG Story throughout the day as we answer your questions about the Public Utilities Department. Public Utilities is responsible for some of the services many of us take for granted, but use regularly, including water, solid waste, parks and more. Questions answered so far include: Are you hiring?... How do I get a new trash container? How do I dispose of batteries? What happens to my trash pickup on holidays? See more

You may notice some new crews working on the landscaping in your area. As part of Clovis’s ongoing efforts to keep our city clean and healthy, we contract with a handful of companies to maintain the City’s landscaping in street/curbside and center median areas. These contracts are renewed periodically, so if you see different crews around than you’re used to, that is why. EMTS will now be maintaining Zones 1, 2, & 3 (as indicated on the attached map) and ACLS will be maintaining the SE/Loma Vista area. As always, if you have concerns regarding the City’s landscaping maintenance, please contact the Public Utilities Department at (559) 324-2600.
