Through the years, The Berkeley Review of Latin American Studies has been a central venue for scholars, policy makers, and entrepreneurs to discuss some of the most important issues affecting Latin America and the world. CLAS has put together a retrospective of key articles on Climate Change, Energy Policy, and Sustainability that resonate today more than ever, and illustrate the impact of the Center's contribution to a broader discussion on these urgent topics. One might say we are going back to the future. Our first highlight: Scientist and alternative energy pioneer Stan Ovshinsky visited CLAS and Berkeley in 2008, highlighting his path-breaking work on solar power, photovoltaics, and the hydrogen cycle.
