Let’s pray for our nation’s leaders to be wise and courageous! Not an easy job at all. I was born in Washington, D.C. because my parents came to the US back in the late 50’s to study at Georgetown and George Washington University. My grandfather gave me my Korean name, Mi Kyung. It literally means American Capitol. If I was a boy, my parents wanted to name me George.

I’m changing my job title. I’m a real estate matchmaker! I helped 3 buyers to buy a home they love this past week. Oh the stories, I could tell you. In this crazy market, it takes creativity, hard work and grit to get your offer accepted. I think I could have a side gig as a sleuth since I don’t just rely on the MLS. One of my clients got a home that didn’t even hit the market yet...on the first day of Lunar New Year no less. So happy for my clients! Can’t wait to hand over 3 sets of keys next month.

Opening Doors in Silicon Valley and Beyond...this has been my tag line all these years. I just received these beautiful flowers from friends who decided to move outside the Bay Area and buy brand new construction but still valued my advice and introductions to great movers and my favorite lender, Caroline Wolf who can assist with purchases nationwide. Over the years, I have also helped other clients find homes elsewhere by introducing them to great local agents and handling t...he sale here. One client just finished building their dream retirement home in ID and I took care of their home here getting it ready for sale after they had moved. I also assist buyers looking at new construction. It’s to your advantage to have your own representation, not from the builder’s agents. This year has been one that unfolded in such unexpected ways but some things remain, the seasons change...so humbling and comforting. Stay safe and well!

My 2021 calendars arrived today from Magnet Street! When it was time to decide whether to place my order, I hesitated wondering if I should get calendars this year or do something else. But I had a couple of moments of clarity. My husband and I love the little ones at church so it’s been hard not seeing them during this pandemic. A couple of the families would send us video messages from their kids. Two different times, the parent asked them, Do you remember Auntie Clara and Uncle Daniel? and their child would run over to the refrigerator and point to my picture on the calendar. You don’t know how much that touched my heart and made me smile. So I had to order the calendars for my little buddies and for the adults too. From the mouth of babes...

Double-Double...not just a burger at In-N-Out. I put both of these townhouse listings in San Jose on the market on 11/6 and then helped both of these two sellers to buy at the same time. This type of transaction is called a contingent sale because the purchase is dependent upon the first property selling first. It’s like playing real estate dominoes and not for the weak of heart. Any delays can affect the second deal. I’m so thankful to say that both listings closed e...arly even with the 2 day Thanksgiving holiday so we are good to go for the two purchases. One of my clients is buying a home off market and the other is buying brand new construction. That builder was willing to accept a contingent sale offer but I had to get the house on the market within a week and get into contract within a month. We did it in 17 days! If you want to work with an agent with nerves of steel, please give me a call. No, really...it requires an agent who can work well with 2 agents and keep two deals going at the same time and in this case, 4 at a time. Wow, what a way to end 2020! I’m so happy for my clients and thankful for their trust in me. I’m also amazed that I just passed my 15 year anniversary in real estate 15 days ago. Boy, time flies! Back then, my son, Michael was only 11 and I wanted a career that gave me the opportunity to be at home when he got back from school.
