I completed my contining Education last week and thought I would share some useful information. Policyholder claims handling: 1. Report the loss as soon as possible. Don't delay. 2. Do what you can to prevent further damage from occurring. (Be sure to take pictures of damage before any repairs are made, and save your emergency repair receipts).... 3. Cooperate with the insurance adjusters, otherwise you are in breach of contract, and your claim can be denied. 4. Answer blocked calls. It's probably the adjuster. 5. Roadmap to Recovery Workshop - Santa Rosa: 10/25/17 by United Policyholders Free Recovery and Insurance Orientation Workshop ... United Policyholders is hosting its first Roadmap to Recovery workshop in Santa Rosa for North Bay wildfire survivors in partnership with Jewish Family and Children's Services. The workshop will start at 6PM and will be right down the street from the Local Assistance Center at 547 Mendocino Ave. at the Unitarian Universalist Church in Santa Rosa. Amy Bach and Karen Reimus will cover the first steps for fire survivors including an insurance recovery orientation and guidance on how to begin to navigating the insurance claim process.
