Blue & Gray Civil War Reenactment 31.03.2021

Dear Sirs, We have been the leading manufacturer and exporter of Civil war, Indian war, Mexican war, Napoleonic war uniforms and accessories since 1990. Most of our patterns are based on originally purchased samples direct from the US. We have our own manufacturing units for uniforms and leather goods. Both items we are making right at our own shops, if you would like to visit our units make a live call please. We carried a wide range of wool and jean wool fabric in stock... in various colors. At present we are offering 4 different Jean wool shades that no one carried here, such as Natural gray, Taupe on brown, Brown on brown, Salt and pepper gray. We are offering most of our jean wool uniforms with TOP HAND STITCHING. However, all our uniforms come with HAND DONE BUTTON HOLES. We are using genuine leather for all our leather products, may this be cartridge boxes, straps, cap pouches, belts, rifle slings, etc. We also carried a wide range of accessories like buckles, buttons, canteens, sashes etc. in stock for quick dispatch. We wish you to buy quality products from us at affordable prices. We have a complete price list for all our products and surely send it to you as soon as we hear from you. Hope we will get a positive response from you soon. Regards, Basraw Bros.Mfg.Co. Web: www.basbrosco.com

After 17 Great Years and Over $1 Million Raised for Charities, the Rotary Club of Moorpark’s Annual Blue & Gray Civil War Reenactment Will Not be Conducted in 2019 so that a New Fundraising Event can be Developed: Dear Blue & Gray Civil War Reenactment Past Attendees, Sponsors, Vendors, and last but not least Reenactors, Civilians, and Sutlers, The Rotary Club of Moorpark has had the pleasure of wonderful support from all of you for the past 17 years! We especially appreci...ated and want to acknowledge the leadership received from Ed Mann and the Howitzers in helping our club to host this special event which educated the public about the historical significance of the Civil War and its effect on the United States including the abolishment of slavery. We always felt that if we forgot the mistakes of the past then we would be bound to repeat them. We believed that the more we helped the public learn and understand our country's history, the better we could be as a nation going forward. The event was not about war but rather the horrors of war and why peace is so important. The event, being sponsored by the Rotary Club of Moorpark, was also clearly about leveraging the net income received from the event to do charitable good locally, nationally, and internationally to align with our motto of Service Above Self. Our event raised from $10,000 to $100,000 each year for charitable causes such as supporting and founding the Boys & Girls Club of Moorpark, stocking and supplying equipment to the local food bank, serving meals to the needy, recognizing those serving in the military, the purchase of bingo equipment for the Active Adult Center, cleaning up local roads, supplying hearing aids to the deaf, equipping computer labs for the poor, covering heart surgeries for youth, and eradicating Polio just to name a few. So it is with heavy heart we share that our Club has decided to pursue an alternative event to meet the needs of local charitable causes. So there will be no 2019 Blue & Gray Civil War Reenactment event in 2019. You can see more detail relating to our decision in the attached letter. We will continue to keep our Blue and Gray Civil War Reenactment Facebook Page active and open in order to allow the almost 2000 enthusiasts and Reenactors who Like it to continue to interface. However, please realize we will not be actively administering it. We hope to see you at our upcoming fundraising events in the near future, and know, we are forever grateful to all of you for your many years of continued support!

From: Michelle Alves [[email protected]] Hello, Every year, Roosevelt Middle School, located in Oceanside California, holds an 8th Grade Heritage Day and Blue and Gray Ball. A reenactment of a formal dance and gathering spanning the years 1840-1865, through the American Civil War. Throughout the year, students learn U.S. History, with a particular attention on Civil War era etiquette, dances, and music. Usually the divide between Middle School boys and girls is deep an...d wide but not at Ball! They waltz and perform the Grand March (learned in P.E.) with confidence. Roosevelt Middle School maintains costumes for students to wear for the event. Parents and staff do our best to keep the costumes in repair however, the bulk of the Union and Confederate jackets are quiet old and becoming threadbare. The vast majority of our students are financially unable to travel outside our town, let alone see Civil War great reenactments and the School District cut out 8th Grade Washington D.C. trips long ago. The Heritage Day Blue and Gray Ball is an opportunity for them to not just experience history but also live it! I am asking for any costume donation that your group could spare. Jackets particularly, but the ball gowns are quiet worn as well. Also would be appreciated, bonnets, gloves, military style cords or decorations for the jacket. Obviously, we cannot accept swords, or other weapons, no matter how the boys would love it! Please help us teach youth out in California the importance and impact of the American Civil War. Thank you, Michelle Alves RMS PTA

The Reenactors, Sutlers, Civilians, and Rotarians had a wonderful time this morning educating many local elementary and middle school students on life during the Civil War time in the US's history! We look forward to having them come back Saturday or Sunday with their parents to learn more.
