What’s your favorite item to pick up from Sunnyvale’s specialty markets? The K Market, a 31,000-square-foot Korean market on El Camino, is more than a place to get kimchi, japchae, and great wings. It is the culmination of 30 years of work for owner Hae Soo Park. Mr. Park came to the states and began his grocer journey stocking shelves in San Francisco. He worked day and night, catching sleep in a back room, planning to someday branch out on his own. After years of hard work,... he purchased a Safeway in Daly City transforming it into Kukje Supermarket. In May of this year, he opened The K Market, building out an expansive prepared foods section (Mr. Park’s favorite), bakery, and more. This was no easy feat in the middle of a pandemic, but he put measures in place to keep his employees and customers safe. Thanks to Mr. Park’s hard work and the essential work of The K Market employees, the foods we love are never far away. #ShopSunnyvale
