We are closed today, Monday, January 18, in observance of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. Today, we honor Dr. King's life and legacy as a civil rights leader and a national hero. All non-essential City facilities and services will reopen by appointment as usual on Tuesday, January 19.

Developing News: We are working with the City of Long Beach and L.A. County to potentially allow for Signal Hill residents to receive the COVID-19 vaccine under the Long Beach Department of Health & Human Services (LBDHHS). At this time we are working together on the next steps. We are grateful for Long Beach Mayor Robert Garcia’s assistance and his office’s coordination with Signal Hill and the L.A. County Department of Public Health. As we are still working through the pro...cess and awaiting confirmation, please do not attend Long Beach vaccination events or call Long Beach to make inquiries at this time. We will keep the community updated as new information becomes available. As a reminder, you may speak with your health care provider if you are interested in receiving the vaccine. Your employer may also have information if you work in an essential or high-risk sector. Currently, only limited groups are able to receive the vaccine. Monday, January 18, 2021, is Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. City Hall, the Community Services Department, and the City Yard will be closed in observance. There are no changes to trash/refuse collection. Street sweeping will also occur as regularly scheduled. The Martin Luther King Jr. Day holiday is an official day of service and celebrates the civil rights leader’s life and legacy. Observed each year on the third Monday in January as a day on, not a day off, MLK Day is the only federal holiday designated as a national day of service to encourage all Americans to volunteer to improve their communities.
