We're updating our Housing Element, which focuses on providing adequate housing for current and future San Carlos residents. The Environmental Safety Element focuses on reducing the potential short and long-term risks resulting from fires, floods, droughts, earthquakes, landslides, climate change, and other hazards. The following San Carlos Vote Centers are open today from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m: Mahany Hall 1336 Arroyo Ave Peninsula Masonic Lodge 1150 Arroyo Ave Library Community Room 610 Elm St., 2nd Floor ... You may also return your ballot in the mail (postmarked by November 3) or at the ballot drop boxes located at the Library (610 Elm Street) and by the City Hall Dog Park (1401 San Carlos Ave) by 8 p.m. The curbside drop-off ballot service is also available today from 7 a.m. - 8 p.m. in front of City Hall (southbound on Elm Street). Northbound traffic on Elm Street will be closed to through traffic during this time. Recology San Mateo County is launching its annual Coats for Kids program to collect new and gently used coats for donation to those in need during the cold winter season. From Monday, November 9 through Friday, November 13, Recology will collect coats curbside from residential homes. Please place coats in a clear bag labeled Coats for Kids next to, or on top of your blue recycle cart on your regular collection day. Collection containers will also be placed at various drop...-off locations throughout participating cities from November 9 through the 20.
