Coronavirus Response Update 2/18/2021 The County of Orange has provided us the following COVID vaccination updates: 1. To increase vaccination capacity, effective February 24, everyone who received their first dose of the Moderna vaccine at the Disneyland Super POD will receive their second dose at the soon-to-open Super POD site at the Anaheim Convention. The Disneyland Super POD will continue dispensing first and second doses of the Pfizer vaccine to those with a...ppointments. 2. The County Super PODs and mobile clinics are not the only vaccination locations. Other healthcare providers approved to dispense the vaccine, including hospitals, pharmacies and health clinics, are also dispensing vaccines to eligible Orange County residents. 3. Appointments are currently being scheduled for eligible individuals who registered in Othena on or before January 23. These prioritization dates for eligible individuals are updated regularly on www.Othena.com . Vaccinations are by appointment only. Anyone showing up without an appointment will be turned away. All residents interested in being vaccinated are encouraged to register at www.Othena.com to be notified when there are appointments available: Step 1: Simply register on Othena.com to be placed in a digital waiting room Step 2: Appointment notifications to those in the digital waiting room will be prioritized based on factors including age, time of registration and available vaccine supply Step 3: Eligible individuals will be notified to schedule an appointment by email or notification through the Othena app; those individuals are advised to regularly monitor their email and the Othena app for updates Users may not have the option of choosing which site to attend or which vaccine to receive (Pfizer or Moderna), depending on the availability of the vaccine when the appointment is scheduled. Those who cannot demonstrate eligibility as a senior 65 or over, or as a healthcare worker, will be turned away. Orange City Council Meeting January 12 Highlights: The Council approved the appropriation of $33,874 in designated grant funding received from California Library Literacy Services. This grant will go to funding the Library’s ongoing Adult Literacy Program. The Council approved a Resolution confirming the extension of the Existence of a Local Emergency Declared by the City Manager/Director of Emergency Services in Response to the Covid -19 Pandemic. The City Manager provided a...n update on the county’s rollout of the vaccination, specifically the pending opening of the Super Distribution Site at the Disneyland Resort. The Council directed staff to move forward with allowing public to provide "live" public comments, via videoconferencing, during a Council meeting. City staff will work on the appropriate protocols which will be posted on the City's website prior to the next Council meeting. The Council began receiving public comments regarding policy options for enforcement of a proposed prohibition on Short Term Rentals. The item was continued until the February 9, 2021 Orange City Council Meeting. The Council approved an agreement and MOU with the Greater Orange Community Arts Theatre Foundation (GOCAT) in support of raising funds for a proposed performing arts venue. GOCAT was established to raise funds, build, and operate a performing arts venue in the City of Orange at Grijalva Park. The Council approved the Site Plan, Design Review , Tentative Parcel Map, and a Density Bonus Housing Agreement for a housing project located at 637 W. Struck Avenue. The project will include 61 income-restricted workforce housing units and one manager unit in a new multi-family complex located on property that was formerly part of the City’s Corp Yard. As part of this project, the Council also approved an Affordable Housing Agreement to assist in the funding of the development. The next regularly scheduled City Council Meeting is Tuesday, February 9, at 6 p.m. Council meetings are scheduled for the second Tuesday of every month, at 6 pm. County of Orange Launches Emergency Rental Assistance Program (Santa Ana, CA) The County of Orange will launch an Emergency Rental Assistance program on February 1, 2021 and will accept applications for a period of one month from eligible renter households with unpaid rent or utilities bills due to the impact of COVID-19. It is important to note that the cities of Anaheim, Santa Ana, and Irvine received direct allocations from the U.S. Department of the Treasury as they have populations that exceed 200,000 residents. Residents of each of those three cities will be served by local city programs. Eligibility criteria includes, but is not limited to: Rental households who can demonstrate that their housing stability is at risk due to unpaid rent or utility bills due to COVID-19 Rental households’ combined income must be at or below 80% area median income (AMI). From the Orange City Fire Department: A period of Santa Ana winds is expected for Thursday evening into Friday afternoon resulting in areas of critical fire weather conditions. Red flag warning remains in effect from 4 PM Thursday, January 14, 2021 to 4 PM Friday, January 15, 2021 for strong gusty winds and low humidity for the Coastal mountain slopes of the San Bernardino, Riverside, and Santa Ana Mountains, as well as portions of inland Orange County.... Fire Watch Volunteers have been activated for patrols and fixed posts. This is routine and out of an abundance of caution. Wind: north to northeast winds 20 to 25 mph with gusts to 50 mph. Isolated gusts up to 55 mph possible in wind prone locations like below the Cajon Pass, San Gorgonio Pass, and Santa Ana Mountain Canyons. Humidity: 8 to 12 percent. Timing: Thursday evening through late Friday afternoon. Strongest winds will occur Friday morning. Outlook a period of weaker Santa Ana winds is expected late Saturday into Sunday morning, followed by a period of potentially stronger Santa Ana winds early next week. Impacts any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly. Outdoor burning is not recommended.

Learn how to program a VEX robot in a simulator, and build a homemade propeller car that you get to keep and customize. This event is the first in a series. COVID-19 Vaccinations at Disneyland Resort Super POD Site by Appointment Only (Santa Ana, CA) Individuals without appointments, even if they are within an eligible group, are urged not to come to the Disneyland Resort Super POD vaccination site without an appointment. Overwhelming the POD (point of distribution) system will make it even more challenging to dispense the limited supply of vaccine currently available. As vaccine becomes more plentiful, additional appointments will become available, and all eligible individuals will receive vaccine. The County’s three existing POD sites were overwhelmed by individuals without appointments today, effectively shutting down the vaccination sites. It is critical for people to understand that appointment slots are available based on vaccine availability. Showing up without an appointment stresses the system and depletes scarce resources. We know the public is anxious to receive the vaccine and we are working diligently to receive additional supplies. Appointments will be available as soon as the vaccine supply exists to meet that demand. Coronavirus Response Update 12/7/2020 Street Sweeping No Parking Enforcement Suspended In response to State Health Stay at Home Orders, enforcement of posted No Parking restrictions for street sweeping days has been suspended throughout the City of Orange until further notice. ... We emphatically ask that you still move your car on street sweeping days to allow our sweeping crews to complete all routes. Enforcement may be resumed if street sanitation cannot be properly maintained. Trash and street sweeping services will still occur on their normal schedule throughout the City of Orange. Published: Dec 07, 2020 New digital tool will officially launch on December 10 SACRAMENTO Governor Gavin Newsom today announced the statewide launch of CA Notify, a new digital tool that will help reduce the transmission of COVID-19. Starting Thursday, December 10, Californians can opt in to receive COVID-19 notifications informing them if they have been exposed to someone who has tested positive for the virus. CA Notify is a digital tool that protects privacy and security it does not collect device location to detect exposure and does not share a user’s identity. The tool was developed in partnership with Google and Apple and piloted with the help of the University California, San Diego and the University of California, San Francisco. Starting Thursday, December 10, Californians can enable CA Notify in their iPhone settings or on Android phones by downloading the CA notify app from the Google Play Store. Californians may start receiving availability alerts from their phones on Thursday, December 10. When individuals voluntarily activate CA Notify, the tool uses Bluetooth technology to exchange random codes between phones without revealing the user’s identity or location. If a CA Notify user tests positive for COVID-19, they will receive a verification code to plug into the app, if they choose. Any other CA Notify users who have been within 6 feet for 15 minutes or more of the COVID-19 positive individual will get an anonymous notification of possible exposure. CA Notify will accelerate how quickly people get notified of a possible COVID-19 exposure, giving people the information they need to make responsible decisions around quarantine and testing. Users who have tested positive for COVID-19 will get a text from the California Department of Public Health at 855-976-8462 with a code which they can enter into CA Notify triggering an alert to phones of people who may have been exposed in the previous 14 days. CA Notify is completely voluntary and free, and is designed to protect your privacy. It does not use device location to detect exposures and does not share your identity to other users. And individuals can securely report if they test positive, so that others can be notified of exposure without indicating their identity. Sandbags are Available With rain in the forecast for the next few days, you might want to think about getting some sandbags, especially if your area has a history of flooding. Orange makes sandbags available at the Public Works Water Yard, free of charge, at 189 South Water Street, near the south end of the building near Almond Avenue. There is a maximum of 10 sandbags per household, and you must fill the provided bags yourself, so bring your own shovel. This service is offered during the rainy season, 24 hours a day, while supplies last.
