#ThrowbackThursday We love this photo of downtown Lakeport from the Lake County Historical Society! The service station and gas pumps on the east side of Main Street are pretty neat. No date is available-- maybe from the mid-1940's?

Downtown street light update: We are aware that many of the downtown street lights are not working right now. The decorative light fixtures were installed in 20...16 as part of the City of Lakeport Downtown Improvement Project. The bulbs were upgraded in 2019 to an energy-efficient LED fixture and were expected to last for many years. Unfortunately some of the LEDs are failing. The LEDs are under warranty and we are currently working with the LED manufacturer to obtain suitable replacements. We hope to begin replacing the failed LED lights soon. Thank you for your patience! Great news! Due to the hard work by our Parks maintenance staff, the playgrounds at Library Park at Lakeport, CA are now open! Our crew has been working diligently to clean and prepare our playground equipment in order to make the area as safe as possible but remember, we must all follow social distancing and good hygiene protocol! When visiting our playgrounds, please:... SANTIZE OR WASH YOUR HANDS: Bring your hand sanitizer to use before, during, and after play. WEAR A MASK: Wear your cloth face coverings when other households are present, and parents/guardians should distance themselves by 6-feet from other adults. KEEP YOUR DISTANCE: Most importantly, please maintain distance with other park users. When you arrive follow capacity limits posted at each playground. If you notice a group of families waiting their turn, please be gracious and limit your time in the playgrounds to allow others a chance to play! Please note that equipment will not be sanitized, as this is impractical to do. Also, the CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) has advised spraying disinfectant on playground equipment in public parks is not believed to be an efficient use of disinfectant supplies and has not been proven to reduce the risk of COVID-19 to the public. Good hygiene practices are an area of personal responsibility, and we are confident our families will use the playgrounds safely. Thank you for your patience and cooperation!
