Wiper Update: As you may remember, the City stocked 50,000 Wipers (Hybrid species between a White Bass and Striped Bass) in the Lake July 8, 2020. As we have had Wipers in the Lake 2005 - 2012, we felt confident that the fish would take well to our fishery. The photos below show the Wiper at stocking (approximately 1 1/4"), several months later (approximately 3+") and last weekend (approximately 6"). In speaking with the California Department of Fish and Wildlife, they believe the growth could be up to 12" by next April! The Wiper "keeper length" is 18 inches. We are looking forward to a great fishing season in 2021!

The City's One Team, One Dream is still hard at work trying to help those in need in our community - one at a time. Led by our street outreach team including @socialworkorg's Street Outreach Team, Code Enforcement and the Lake Elsinore Sheriff's Department, last month we helped another 3 individuals get off and stay off the streets. Help support our #DreamTeam by practicing Responsible Compassion and giving a hand up, not a handout. We encourage you to HELP our homeless by ...truly making a difference for them rather than enabling them to continue to live on the streets. #LakeElsinore, today is Election Day 2020! This year, we asked our voters to decide whether they support a local funding measure. Measure Z is a local one cent (or 1%) sales tax measure on the ballot. If approved, it would ensure the City is self-reliant for years to come. Measure Z requires all funds to be used in Lake Elsinore, ensuring a higher percentage of our sales tax dollars stay here for City services. By law, no funds can be taken by the state, county or federal g...overnment. Measure Z would provide finding for local community identified priorities including: Providing quick responses to 9-1-1 emergencies Providing fire protection and paramedic services Fixing streets, sidewalks and repairing potholes Keeping public areas clean, healthy and free of graffiti Reducing gang activity and drug related crimes Preparing for public health crises, wildfires, natural disasters and other large-scale emergencies. No matter what the outcome of the election is, the City will work with our residents to address these community priorities. Thank you to all those who have already voted on this important measure. We encourage all residents to participate in this historic all mail-in ballot election. Get out and vote LE. #Election2020 #MeasureZ #GetOutandVote
